Go back and see my previous post.

I named plenty of european games where I thought he played well.

I was just answering the guys reply.

Majority of those games being in the 07/08 season, which is arguably the only year he's been consistant.

What has he done in Europe the last 2 years? Or against Rangers in the league, especially at Ibrox? Jot-all.

A player like McGeady sometimes seems better than he is because when he is on form he's excellent, and produces memorable performances, but for every great performance there are 5 frustrating ones IMO.

    Just can't get enough!
For a start, he is our most creative player by a country mile.

We don't have the money to replace him lads!

08/09 the entire team had a poor campaign in Europe, but he still picked up MOTM against Villareal, scoring our 2nd goal and remember he also missed a couple of games of that campaign through injury.

I think the less said about this seasons European exploits the better, its hard to single out an individual for our poor showings, but he did play well in Moscow and laid on Sammys goal in our only win in the group stage V Hapoel.

He was magnificent against the huns in the CIS cup final last season and remember he was dropped for Maloney for the crunch game at Ibrox.

He was also magnificent in the new year old firm game this season, dropping the ball perfectly on Skippys head for the goal and scored in the 1st game at Ibrox.

People forget this stuff too easily.

He should get a lot of assists - he gets the ball majority of the time when we attack so it would be solid not to, even for an average player.

He got dropped at Ibrox as he is always absolutely murder there, scoring a penalty doesn't make up for that. The CIS cup game is probably the only time he's truely stood out against the Huns, he wasn't that good in the New Year game and should have scored at least once.

I just think when we need him most (in big games), he doesn't deliver. There's a reason he doesn't consistently start for Ireland.

So as it seems as though the "Majority" on here seem to have seen through McGeady, and would want the money for him, we are all pathetic.... ???

This is a debate on McGeady, as the thread states. Do you want every single poster on here signing false praises.

It's the boy who's pathetic mate, not us.... !!!

That is exactly the point he gets the ball nearly everytime we attack surely you can't say that is healthy for a footballer? now, teams know this all they have to do is make sure they get him marked and closed down instantly and they are half way towords a point at least you cannot expect him to win matches on his own.

He was great early season when malony was fit we had a threat from both sides and teams couldn't only worry about him therefore giving him space to play in and this is the same reason why he played well tuesday because motherwell also had to worry about mcginn.

When the game closes up then the other teams can get tight on him and make sure he dosen't get space, without space to work in very few of his type of player are going to be effective.

I'm not comparing him to greats here i'm comparing him to players we can afford to replace him with and we can't afford anyone who can do better.
We should be playing to our strenghs and he is our main asset.

I would be rid of at least 5-6 other players before I even thought about selling mcgeady.

So would I, but the reality is he is only 1 of around 3 or 4 assets who Celtic will get any money on, and who other teams may look to come and bid for before the other duds that are in our side.

He is replaceable also, there have been far better players than McGeady in the past who are affordable. But again, thats all about opinions

I the Amount of money we have scrimped and saved over the past few seasons we shouldn't need too sell our biggest assets.

The reason we're even having this debate is evidence enough.....the BOY needs to up his game or move on if he thinks he's that good!

But that in your eyes Frank...

The best players in our club throughout the years have not divided opinion the way McGeady has, great players do not do that, they unite opinion.

The fact of the matter is, I would honestly say 60/70% would like to see the back of him, for many reasons may I add, but most because the boy does not deliver.... FACT!

This cherry picking that some fans are doing of him from games up to 4 years ago, picking out a goal he set up in 1 old firm game etc... is completely laughable, but also, again, a sad enditement on some of our fans!

I would love, love to know what some fans see in this boy, because its a fact his end product is poor!

The tricks and flicks when 1 on 1 are all ok, but when there is no end product, no goals, it wears a little thin mate!

I bet the majority if not all celtic fans where excited when McGeady was coming through, excited as we had 1 of our own, a young boy who looked great on the ball... ect ... but as the years have gone on, little or no improvement on a game that makes him still look like a 17 year old boy who does not know when to release the ball.

Time for McGeady to move on...

No Robson done very well with that header, the ball was behind him and he some how managed to get it goal bound, id hardly say it was a perfect ball!

I just think that the 1st decent bid that comes in for him, we should accept.

I think that we would be lucky to get 5 million for him, as he has been * poor for the past 2 years.

The 'cherry picking' you've mentioned was done because I was asked by another poster what he's done in old firm games over the past two seasons and I gave 3 perfectly good examples. 3 examples in about 6 old firm games when we've performed generally pretty poorly is hardly 'cherry-picking'.

You earlier also questioned his contributions in Europe, again I've answered your question with several good examples.

Generally speaking in domestic games, he's consistent and is the player our players look to for creation and that opposition teams double up on.

If his end product and crossing is so poor, why do opposing managers double up on him?
