McGeady v Maloney

Yes, if he's the greatest, how come Maloney has his place in the team. Maloney is a better overall player.

 

i would rather keep mcgeady and play him every week he is top drawer

i get the feeling strachan is playing maloney because of the contract thing,i'd like both to stay but if one had to go it would be maloney.Mcgeady is younger has more skill and his ability to set goals up is far superior than maloney.I would like to see maloney and mcgeady playing,with maloney more in a central role behind the front 2

 

mcgeady is a brilliant young talent with alot yet to come.maloney great player too but not sure if he has the passion or love for the club and i think he has hit his best form.where mcgeady loves the club and wants his place.and has years of skinning defenders yet to come

 

Aye ah agree but Mcgeady was player of the month playing some of his best football then got an injury an cant even get on as a sub i would rather he was playing from start and bring maloney on later in game, Read this morning that Wigan are going to put a bid in for Maloney in Jan with 18,000 a week Lets see where his loyalties lie with the club aor lining his pockets. Hope its with the club.

 

Maloney because he is being a * over contracts. No matter what hes going to end up rich anyways. If hes looking at Thompson and Balde and being jealous he shouldn't because there finished. They'll be gone in January.

 

NOTW have a piece saying Maloney is leaving on a bosman to join the prestigious Wigan.....you'd have to laugh, give up nights like Tuesday to play in a place that's more concerned about rugby league......jokers

 

I'd pick whatever one wants to play for jersey more.

 

The both of them should learn to just get on with it. Instead of being selfish why can't they both realise that if we have the both of them fit and competing with each other for the jersey they will both become better players and Celtic as a team will be laughing.

Maloney is delaying his contract talks because he knows McGeady is a major threat to his position imo, and he wants a definite start every week. McGeady is on the same boat and is coming out and doing the thing that gets right up my *, moaning to the media. Was he oblivious to the whole Petrov situation? He better watch what he's saying.

In an ideal world the two of them will realise that the current situation is propelling the both of them into a level they would not reach if they we're secure about their place in the team, and they will be better players for it. Is that not what it's all about? Being the best player you possibly can be?

 

This debate can end right now, if you watched the game today. Maloney was totally ineffective, and Mcgeady came on and was much more direct and dangerous for us.

McGeady must start the next game.

 

totally agree Maloney was mince Mcheady came on and every time he got the ball celtic loooked dangerous must surely start still cant beive wgs never started him. today maybe we would have won the game if he had picked him from the start

McGeady for me on present form. Would be interested to see both on together. In fact, we could have had both and naka all on together in the 2nd half if one (probably Maloney) had been played just behind Kenny instead of Jarosik.

 

I am in total agreement Greendave. In an earlier post I felt maybe Maloney was better but he hadn't done much this season while McGeady had been excellent. There really can't be any doubt Maloney's just not producing the goods at the moment. Most likely the whole contract situation with him has a lot to do with it. But whether it does or not Aiden McGeady clearly showed he is the man in form and should start next week against Aberdeen.
To me at this point Maloney has had his chance with a run in the side and hasn't produced McGeady is fit again and should start.

 

a think maloney isnt intrested in playing for celtic anymore really hes kinda doing a petrov playing half hearted then will prob come in a few months and say a need more money or a want a move to england.

But really the player that annoyed me the most is zurawski,hes a right waster these days and contribues nuthin.i'd play deek or beatties ahead of him

 

Both of them are becoming inconsistant. I think it seems to work rotating them.

 

I think CFC will be be better placed to make that decision IMO... me : i would keep Mcgeady........... cash in on maloney, we are a business at the end of the day ! whether we like it or not
