sell him and buy keane for 6 million and buy lawrence for 2 million and in my opinion we are a much stronger team. i think mcgeady is a good player but his final ball is shocking how many times last season did he get to the edge of the box and then fail to get the ball past the first player its scary and so frustrating so i say let him go and use the money to buy players who have more of an end product. Besides im confident he will bomb in the epl like maloney did and we will get him back in a few years for 2 million.

If we sell him i hope we get the fee all in one go, if not and he goes to Brum it should be 7/8million upfront with 2mill add on and 25%sell on fee ,

I wouldnt like to see him go cos when hes good hes MAGIC which we as Celtic supporters love, but i think hes gone stale as he usually has at least 3 defenders marking him out the game and for the money we would get for him we could sgn 2 or 3 really good players, so i think him moving on would be good for him and Celtic. But i wish him well what ever happens :50:

Don't want him to leave. Still think he should score more goals and have a better end product but he is by far our best player. Selling our best player doesn't send out a positive message especially when there is no guarentee the money would be reinvested. I think we take him for granted but it's no suprise that nearly every team we play double up on him.

Maybe if we had a consistent winger on the other side we wouldn't rely on him too much. We seem to.

Makgidi asked Celtic not to interfere with its move into Russia

Wing midfield, Celtic and Republic of Ireland Aiden Makgidi told by a Scottish club that wants to try to force the other team and asked to release him in "Spartak," said Sport-Express.

Decision was 24-year-old is not easy, but the new head coach of Celtic Neil Lennon is expected to Makgidi in the new season. However, if the red and white will be able to negotiate with the club from Glasgow, then the transition will take place.

Its possible some do not know how a plc functions but celtic will spend any money that they get apart from dividend payments so im not sure where you guys think the money will magically disappear to if Mcgeady is sold for example 10 million. The money from sales goes in some way into any transaction celtic make whether its wages or transfer fees, the money will be reinvested no doubt as we have heard many times from lawell every cent is reinvested in the team.
Its whether the money will be spent on 2/3 good players on 30k a week or 5/6 average players thats what is the problem.

Murdo MacLeod is a *. He votes Tory for * sake!!! another one of our ex-players who constantly runs down the club in public. If McGeady wants to go, fine, but not for a penny less than £8M.

they can * of if they are proposing to pay us in installments...

Spartak Moscow are ready to step up their efforts to sign Celtic's Aiden McGeady but want to pay the £10m fee in instalments. (Sun)

Just a few words about Spartak Moscow Manager. If he says that Spartak is not interested it doesn't mean that Spartak is not interested. Last time he told that Spartak was not interested in Nikola Drincic and one month later Spartak signed Drincic. The same was with Marek Suchý, but words were a bit different. I personally think that negotiations are going right now.

    boooooooooooooolshit :56:

sick of this arguement always creeping up in threads about mcgeady. if he is marked out the game by 2 defenders, thats half the defence, nevermind 3!

not aimed at you in particular, but i just dont buy this argument at all, its simply just an alibye for mcgeady being rank rotten.

mate i don't know what games you have been watching but McGeady DOES get man marked in games and most of the time by at least 2 players, im not suggesting that half the oppositions defense man marks him every game, but most of the time you you have the opposition right/left back challenging him as well as a tracking back midfielder and on some occasions one of the central defenders gets dragged out to challenge him aswell, ive seen it with my own eyes and it's happening more and more to try and stop the bhoy. Don't get me wrong he's a good player but i just don't like him his face just makes me want to slap it, he's an arrogant wee * who's now picked a fight with lennon and strachan, we should be pleased to get shot of him. for half the money we want for him we could should be able to get a replacement that wil score more goals than him IMO.:50:
