His agent already released a statement stating mcgeady does not want to leave.

He hasnt requested a transfer and the board hasnt put him on the transfer list.

thats all part of the optics,he has to be seen to say that.if he didn't want to leave he wouldn't be questioning the managers judgement so publically.the board are with strachan so there can only be one outcome

they should lock aiden, his dad,his agent,GS & PL in a room till it's sorted in time for the huns game as anything but a defeat should see us on the road to the title, which is still the most important issue here, the huns must be loving it :54:

What the point in appealing if he wants away it would be a total and utter waste of time,,surely he would just request a transfer and be done with it,as someone said 30k is the least of his worries.

Yes the board have backed wgs with the sanctioning of the ban,i really believe(opinion:84:)wgs gave the board the back me or sack me ultimatum.

Its clear to me the board wants to lose neither but something has got to give and it seems aidens unwilling to apologise will cost him his celtic career......i hope not....

    Probably :31:

I think Strachan, Pendrey, Lennon and McManus should be the major players talking to McGeady and Lawwell & Board informed of the outcome of the reconciliation.

he doesn't need to appoligise lol. thats just more paper BS. his agent has said he's heard nothing about aiden needing to appologise be it written or verbally.

    you missed maloney out.

he thought the grass was greener on the other side...........he'd be the perfect player to speak with mcgeady IF IF IF IF IF IF IF IF IF he wants to leave.

I agree with you mate, the stories i've heard from mates doing as much as saying "alright" while standing next to him at the bar, even when he had just broken into the first team.

Look at how he reacted to Lennon, we he had a go at him (at Love st?). But, then after that it was "aye the wee mans got heart".

I'm not going to get into an arguement over the whole choosing Ireland thing, but his decision has endeared him to factions of the Celtic support more than his ability, which many would have lost patience with during times of terrible inconsistency.

Some might argue the opposite, that Scotland fans among the support could never fully warm to him. In my case, i'll say hes the best natural talent we've produced in a long, long time. A complete rarity in terms of technique in Scotland. But, imo his decision was simply career motivated, selfish and immateur, he also knew as anyone would how much it would endear him to sections of the support, making him cult figure, as well as a hate-target for the rest of the country.

Alot of my mates are supporting him over this, most of which have Shebeen banging in their motor anytime I climb in.

Well, I'm Irish and I think he deserves his punishment. He decision over his national team is not a factor for me in this.

His attitude and professionalism was stinking for a good while now and the club have now reprimanded him when he apparently gone too far. Well done Celtic, knock that ego trip right out of him!!

Didn't mean you or Irish born lads mate. Meant more Scottish people with distant or no recent Irish lineage who batter on about the RA (amongst like minded people, but would bottle it in mixed company), and how much they wouldn't play for a hun country like Scotland etc, .i.e. people who probably share the same mentality as young Mcgeady.

I just read Graham Spiers' article. Apparently Mcgeady called Strachan "an *".

He's pish at Ibrox! And would you let a cheeky wee * play? Naw! You'd bOOt him in the balls like Celtic have done.

If what I hear is correct then he deserves his punishment. If he wants to leave Celtic because of this, then it shows he's still a wee bhoy who needs to have a wee reality check.

You wouldn't have a got at Ferguson if you were a Man U fan and he banned Ronaldo would ye?

Assuming a lot of reports are correct and McGeady acted completely disrespectfully towards the manager how would you react in the build-up to the Old Firm? Ach let him off with it - AAAAaaaaaaye what we need right now is a complete lack of respect for anyone in the dressing room - THAT will get us sorted out for the Rangers game. :56:

Look, for Spiers to put into print that McGeady called Strachan an * repeatedly, then he must have a source in the dressing room....it's just too risky to print otherwise.

So assuming then that the above is true, no manager of any club could afford NOT to discipline the player immediately, no matter what games are coming up. Strachan had no choice...McGeady made sure of that.

If anyone needs to be taking a long * hard look at himself right now it's McGeady. He's petulant, selfish and shows * all regard for the team. I hope we get a decent amount for him come January but even if not, good riddance. I've lost a * of a lot of respect for the boy over this episode and imho, Strachan handled it perfectly appropriately.

Fully agreed mate, especially the last paragraph but I would like him to get an attitude transplant if possible otherwise selling is the only option
