Poteintial... but won't reach it. He's just not smart enough on the pitch.
He can take it by a player, aye. but that's it off the ball he does little, dosn't make runs into space the way maloney does for the through ball and dosn't look where he's crossing it. Also is far too gready.
He'll never play at man utd barca, madrid etc. Arshavin could handle it at either of those clubs.

McGeady on his day is up there with Arshavin and the likes. Pitty his days have been few and far between lately

If McGeady was more consistent with his shooting we'd struggle to keep him.

he has potential and im a big mcgeady fan but i think he could improve by even experiencing a different like like shaun did and i hope if he doesnt cut it that we could get him back because i believe he has been faithful to us so why not

Ye I would agree with that, Maloney’s movement off the ball is far better than that of McGeady IMO! McGeady is undoubtedly great at beating a man but it’s what he does when he doesn’t have the ball that lets him down! I personally think Maloney is a far more intelligent player although not as good at beating a man etc!<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>

Is'nt that why alot of people have it in for Maloney now tho?? He left and it didn't work out so he came back and alot of people still don't accept him! Maloney was about the same age as McGeady is now when he left for Villa so wot would give McGeady the right to go away try something else and come back if it didn't work out when Maloney still isn't accepted but a large section of the Celtic support? Seem's a bit Hypocritical to me!

Im also a big fan of Mcgeady, although Arshavin is a world class player, and McGeady is not. To be fair if McGeady went down south i think he could improve a lot and become even better, but then again one word - Maloney

He wouldn’t be the only player to go down south and not make it (if you want to put it that way) I thought he should never have went because O’Neill never gave him a chance when we was manager here so some things never changed when he went down to Villa! The Villa fans actually liked him a lot and would sing his name etc! I do believe however that he has came back a better player overall!<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>

I've yet be convinced by that, he's not been nearly as good as his player of the year season imo.

That’s because he’s playing in a poorer team IMO! It’s the same with McGeady, he’s not as much a stand out that he was in his POTY season either! <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>

I agree McGeady has not been as good either, but if he had came back a much better player you'd expect him to stand out in most games, some games he's too quite and doesn't do enough for me (same as McGeady) so for that reason I don't think he's a much better player after his spell at AV.

McGeady is on a lower level than Arshavin. McGeady is probably as talented as Arshavin but Arshavin has a better shot, a better awareness of the game and is more consistent. Talk to nearly any manager and I'd bet that they'd rather have Arshavin in their team that McGeady.

I don’t think that is down to a lack of trying tho! There are so many times that he makes good run’s and they aren’t seen by the player with the ball! I think his movement off the ball is great and it’s often not picked up on but of course you don’t see that unless your actually at the games! I think when Naka was in the team, he was able to see the runs that other players can’t! I thought we played the best football in the season when we had Naka one one flank and Maloney on the other (the season Maloney won POTY)
