    Actually, the mentality of whoever 'done' McGeady can be exemplified by what I've been reading in the hun forums today. 98% say he deserved it 'cos he goes aboot asking for it' based on 'I've heard this etc...'. Nobody has seen him look for trouble but by just being in a club means he thinks he's somebody. What a lot of *. One guy claimed to have decked him, another to have been banned from a place for punching a mte of McGeady's who'd asked him what he was staring at.

    The general reason for many huns who would love to have punched him seems to have been the 'hard luck Rangers vid' in the dressing room at Tannadice with McGeady offering commiserations to Rangers. That's about all. They hate him for being a taig a * etc. But for very little substantial. A few Rangers supporters have defended hi right to be where he was unhassled by morons, though I do agree with what Henke said about his sense of responsibilty as a professional. McGeady is an object of irrational hatred for all the wrong reasons. The monobrows are out to get him. Feather in their cap. He should be more prudent. Nacho Novo is a similar object of contempt fopr Celtic fans, but has not been attacked. Mainly because Tims do not want to bring bad PR on the club, if nothing else, but also because Novo is more sensible IMO. At least as far as I know.

    You don't stop supporting a team just because they are pish. If everyone did that then Celtic would have lost all their supporters during the 1990s. That is not what a true supporter does. Thick and thin. Remember that.


    And to those who think McGeady wouldn't have been attacked if he'd chosen to play for Scotland,. That's rubbish. It is because he plays for Celtic he and others get singled out for violent attacks. Pure and simple.

    Thing aboit Novo is we hate him for many of the things we love in a player. He is a die-hard (* knows why) and has an in your face hard man/ned self-image but he hasnt really done anything wrong. He is just a panto baddy.

    You should read my post again. I condemed the attack and indeed all violence. I am just saying that I know for a fact that McGeadys unique decision (for a top Scottish player) to not wait for Scotlands call has set much more than the anti-catholic/Irish element against him.

    I dont know if the attack was sectarian or not. Certainly he seems to have got hastle from a whole range of people of different backgrounds if the posts on this thread are in any way true.

    I've had a look at your posts mate,maybe you should do the same.

    You use a lot of emotive phrases,"snubbing Scotland","huge slap in the face","threw away his peace of mind","pariah".Come on,dont you think you're going a bit OTT?

    What has McGeady actually done?He's chosen to play for a different country,that's all.He hasnt stuck two fingers up at anybody,he hasnt slagged Scotland off.He actually made this decision some time ago,yet people are still giving him a hard time about it.You included.People have to get over it,he has made his decision.

    The report said there was sectarian abuse.I've no doubt that was the case.
