He has the main attributes speed, technique, agility etc on a very high level. if other players had the same abilities, they would make a great career. in his case I assume the problems lie in his head. not sure if he wants too much or if he's mentally blocked. However being a football manager also requires dealing with several different humans and characters. McGeady may be a difficult person to deal with (I don't know, don't want to accuse him of that) and WGS never figured out how to do it. May be TM can make him fullfil his potential. we will see...

The only problem with mcgeady is no final ball and scores very few goals

McGeady is our one class wing threat who can open up defences and create. If we went without him, you'd see a poorer Celtic team. Fickle, fickle.

Aiden for me hasn't been the player of the year for celtic this season, i haven't seen it from him this season for people on here to say that he his. He was very poor last night, he needs to do the simple things more often rather than try and beat his man repeatedly and lose the ball to the opposition. so many times last night caddis was bursting forward to support him and recieve a pass from him, but aiden being aiden would ignore him and try and beat the defenders himself, too often he trys to win games on his own.

i think the spl defenders now find him too predictable and know what hes going to do next. i think he still can be the player he looked to be, but the past while he hasnt shown enough.

If we're offered £10 million or more for him, sell him. He's now keeping the team back and we're keeping him back from developing as a player. I like Aiden, but too many moves are channelled through him, we lose the element of surprise against our opponents.

McGeady takes it past a player but then feels he has to take it past another , then another , then another until he gets tackled
That or he puts in a cross that hits the first man or does a shot which is more like a back pass to the keeper .
    Very over rated

It's fair to say we're all wising up to McGeady. Over rated has been mentioned many times and nothing could be more true. It's no longer knee * reactions to him. Many of our fans have been getting fed up with his end product for ages now. It's only just took a little longer than normal for people to start voicing their opinions. 5 years is sufficient time to improve your game.Other than fitness levels i see zero improvement in him.

I personally think aiden is one of the problems in the current setup.Mogga seems to have given aiden a license to do whatever he feels like on the pitch which more often than not ends up in him getting the ball taken off him or him putting in a cross that looks like a gust of wind blew the ball. He generally has little communication team mates and thinks he is the only player on the pitch for Celtic.I would love him to just pass the * ball to someone now and again but he's just too ball greedy. I think his greedy style of play brings the team down as the team can't function as a unit when you have one player thinking he is super human and can take on a whole team himself.

4mil or above and i would take him to whatever team wants him myself. He's been given 5 years too long to improve which is far longer than any other player would be given.

Well.. Most of our attacks with McGeady. And unfortunatly, they also end with McGeady.

He just needs to use his head more, and stop trying to be the saviour.

Although saying that, Hibs were absolutly hunting down everything last night that came inside their own half.

cant belive that someone called him lazy, doesnt matter how bad he plays, every single game he gives 100% and is genuenly gutted when we lose.
He has been our best player this season and has had an off game, his final ball is something that needs to be worked on but everything else he does up to that is spot on, the most talented player we have.

If TM can sort id be delighted but i wont hold my breath on it. 5 years, 3 managers and still basically the same player he was when he broke through. Granted his defensive side has gotten slighty better. Thats just my opinion anyway.

Here's what i don't get. Why has he been are best player? I know he gives a 100% but so did Kenny Miller. Now im not comparing the two in anyway but for me are best player should contribute alot more to the team with goals and assists. Like i said is 5 goals and 7 assists really that good for are best player? It may seem as though im picking on him, im not im just madly frustrated that his hasn't improved his shooting or football brain in 5 YEARS! How long does he need ffs

Mcgeady's biggest downfall is his inability to whip a ball in with pace & is absolutely useless when attempting a shot on goal, no power in those legs at all im afraid. he can dance around players all night aye fair enough but there just isnt enough consistent end product for me. take any reasonable offer for him.

i agree i do not doubt mcgeady`s ability but it has never improved , in the game agaist hibs , only once did he beat a player then whip in a cross , all other times he wants to go back and beat him again then again then the whole move breaks down , he is no where near our best player this year , please take of the tinted glasses he has reached his peak and if we can get anymore than 5 million for him i will drive him myself to whichever club he wants to go to sorry boys but sometimes the truth is hard to accept

In a team playing well and every player confident in the abilities of their team mates McGeady would be fantastic for us, right now though we can't afford to play his type of player. When he loses the ball as he tends to do by over playing a move (taking on another player needlessly) he puts pressure on a defence that is shaky at best and causes frustration in the stands which then gets directed at the team. In a team winning games and playing well he can afford the odd bit of over dribbling, not now though...not in a team prone to leak goals. We need a more direct threat....a player who will beat a man and whip a first time cross in.

If it's not power it's accuracy - the shots that get genuine power hit row Z.

I can't understand how he can be so dreadful at shooting.

mcgeady is QUALITY end off! i understand what some peopl are trying to say,but the problem with wingers (any wingers, especially with the pace of mcgeady)is that they play with there head down a lot.thats why sometimes youl see the odd * cross or miss control(when they look up)or row z.this goes for arron lennon, quaresma, damian duff etc..they all do it.thats how teams that play we wingers dont just have one or 2!
messi, ronaldo, giggs do it a lot less cause they are WORLD CLASS..

give mcgeady a break...hes 23 year old, celtic through and through.were lucky to have him ffs

Mate wake up...more like the odd good cross, his crossing is very very poor and that is reality.

Pace? What pace? Yes he is reasonably fast but he isn't Agathe or Lovenkrands or even Kenny Miller. People go on about his pace all the time but its not his pace that beat's players, it's the change of direction.

Source?? Or is that an opinion? Sammy is faster than him in my opinion and i would say Brown and Maloney are too.
