mate he is by far and away best striker at Celtic and given the lack of support and lack of service from midfield, we should be thankful we have him...and point finger at other deficencies we have

We are talking about quality, and compared to the list I provided you with, Skippy isnt in their league for football ability football ability if you were honest? Agreed? I would rather have sheer quality tbh mate. Skippy has done well for the money we paid but he is not 'great', and what I am trying to get at is the real drop in standards of quality in the striking department as a whole in comparison with what we were 'spoiled' with beforehand.

I disagree, if skippy was in any of the teams that those players were, he would score a * load, and we would be singing his praises

He's been great for us, and he'll be even better when he gets a decent striker to play alongside.

    Good player.

I refuse to get sucked into the fickle crowds of fans who speak highly of him when he scores but drag him down when he can't score vs a 6ft7 keeper, and has a 6ft5 or whatever CB marking him. 8 other players camped in the box.

His first touch WAS appalling at the start of the season, its been brilliant since and he does twice the work of our other strikers combined.

Perhaps some slack would be given if he was Irish or had a choice to play for Ireland ?

I am not full of hate. I go each and every week and support my team. I am one of the most vocal at supporting my team. Its just people who cant accept that this team is not very good and hasnt a large number of mediocre players that upsets me. The football on show is dire and we have constantly struggled all season, and are having to rely on favours from other teams which we shouldnt have to. I just feel the team is now going backwards and I am entitled to my opinion. I will always support my team, but they are not exempt from criticism, which you and others alike feel they and the manager are free from.

What i meant was even though the other guys came purely for cash they still did the buisness on the field. Guess what i'm saying is does it matter why they came as long as they do the buisness? I wasn't having a go at McDonald.

His first touch is hopeless at times but he does the business . He is the biggest moaner of the lot which i find funny too but nobody can argue with his scoring record for us and as a striker thats all that matters

hes an average player in a poor team. i like him but we should never be relying on the likes of macdonald to bag us a win. much better player than samaras and jvoh though.

As for McDonald, still misses far too many glorious opportunities IMO.

Amazing how apparently he is a better player than Samaras to some?
Samaras, the donkey, ''the hair'' - the lost boy! The wet. Samaras - no first touch, no strong shot, Samaras the waste of money. Samaras is all these things to me also. But:

Samaras who has 1 goal less than Skippy all season despite playing over 1120 minutes less.

Take this statistic, add to the fact Samaras has has an injury plagued season and tell me why Skippy, who is obviously intimidated by Samaras's presence, is so much superior to Samaras? Simply, Skippy is talentless and one for the fans who like grit over end product and ability. I will repeat what I have said all along. Samaras, JVOH and Skippy are all sub par. No question. Perhaps if Samaras gets a run of form with no injury he could be something special. Skippy is like Tim Henman. There is only so much a coach can bring out of him due to the fact that natural talent can't be bottled and fed to a player. Skippy has been figured out now in the SPL and it didn't take long. He is already working at maximum potential. However, I believe clubs deserve the players they have. If honestly a Celtic fan thinks to build a team or even an attack around Skippy, they have incredibly low standards.

Newcastle would give him a game.
