Izzy really needs a hard tackle and come out of it fine. Could be a lot of psychological problems with injuries like that and sometimes you need to take a hit to prove that you're better now.

Personally I think Izzy will regain that form and the day we have 2 class full backs playing at the same time will be one happy day for Tims all over.

No doubt Matthews has been better recently but I think Izzy is showing signs of getting back to the level he was at before the injury.

Got a feeling that this poll would be a lot different if Izaguirre hadn't been injured for most of last season. Ankle injuries take a long time to recover from and when you do, it takes quite a while to get back to your previous level of playing.

    Matthews (probably) won't win POTY.

I voted Izzy, I think he's just off form and we all know what he can do. But if it was based on current form you'd have to vote Matthews.

cmon to * Lenny put commons back to his inside left role to link up with izzy again. commons isn't affective in this forward play off the strikers role with most of the time his back is to goal. Move commons back to LM and gain a new left back in izzy. :50:

Adam seems to have a more rounded game. More responsible getting back into position. I think Izzy is greedy sometimes in thsat way.

But there's no doubting Izzy going forward, he attacks like a tricky winger, like Antonio Valencia or something and his final ball is 95% great. Memories of Naylor who attacked in a similar way but witha final ball with 0% efficiency....

I like Izzy but this is a myth. Final ball is as inconsistent as Cha's ever was and he was given a hard time here by the fans.

Nope, I'm not one for exaggerations, I'm not even his biggest fan but Izzy has one of the best crosses in open play I've seen at CP

And you think that's the case 95% of the time? Sorry but that is an exaggeration. He balloons it more than Matthews. Sometimes it doesn't get past the first man. All games this season, including pre-season in that, I don't remember him putting in a really good cross. I know he isn't really up to speed yet but he puts in a lot of crosses and many of them float harmlessly away over everyones head or hit the first defender.

I'm struggling to imagine what you're referring to? He didn't play last season and the season before that he was POTY by a decent margin.....

I told you what I'm referring to and that is all games played this season. When was the last assist he got? My point is that his last assist was probably many crosses ago so saying that his final ball is fantastic 95% of the time is an exaggeration of his abilities.

I reiterate that I think he is a brilliant player and I hope he recaptures his POTY form but I just think talk about his final ball always being amazing is a myth.

72 votes in favour of Matthews and 58 in favour of Izzy then? Wondering if people still think Matthews is the better player? To me it's clear, and always has been, that Izaguirre is in a totally different class.

Both on top form Izy. This season by far Matthews, same with last though that was skewed with Izy's injury. :50:

Izzys been on great form in the last 3 or 4 games aswell, started slowly in the season but looks to have his confidence back. On current form going by the last few games especially in europe and in general i think izzys the better player. Their both great though.

There is very little between both players, neither is certainly not 'in a different class' from the other.

    Two different styles of player.

Personally not interested in "who's the best" - only care about how they perform for the team :50:

Izaguirre is the better of the two, there is no doubt about it for me. Matthews has to improve his forward play, he doesnt attack enough but he is only 20, 6 years younger than Izzy, who knows what Izzy was like 6 years ago - probably not as good as Matthews.

I have no idea, but I'd probably say he was being deployed as a winger.

Looks as if he is one of these converted-to-left-back players.
