Pretty sure a loan will come in to replace him.

Could be time to sell now when his stock is high.
Not have another eduardo on our hands and down tools and having sell for peanuts

I've always believed that we should sell players when their stock is high, which then gives you the ability to progress your team with better players in specific positions to enhance the team and not the position. So, you lose your best player but you upgrade at CB, LB, CM, ST with the O'Riley money and you're a far better team.

That being said, the club need to stick to their valuation and I think we all agree that if the valuation is matched, we should sell him. It's not a good look for the club to other younger players who may see Celtic as an excellent stepping stone in their progression to the big leagues if we are refusing to sell players even when that valuation is hit.

Again, it does go back to have a competent footballing structure with a successful scouting network and a successful youth setup, with clear pathways for players to the first team. We have none of that, at the minute.

Italian reporter who has been pretty accurate with regards to the Atalanta saga is saying they are pushing to agree a 25m euro bid for O'Riley, which is just over £22m. Very disappointing if so. O'Riley already agreed a 5 year contract.

Atalanta is getting closer to Matt O'Riley. Or rather, to the valuation that Celtic has of their player, stuck at 27 million plus 2 in bonuses. The Biancoverdi have so far shown themselves adamant, continuing to ask for the initial 29 million. However, the Nerazzurri have now sent an offer of 25 million plus 2 in bonuses that could be the decisive one. A response from Celtic is now awaited, but they do not reveal their intention to sell the player who, for their part, has given precedence to Atalanta over the offers of Brighton and, in general, the Premier League. Also due to a contact that O'Riley himself had with Gasperini in recent days. It remains to be seen whether Celtic do not intend to ask for even more, because there are some rumours of a possible upward request, around 30 million pounds. Obviously, a positive response would also have an impact on Teun Koopmeiners, with the midfielder now just waiting for the green light to sign with Juventus. The offer is around 55 million euros - bonuses included - and this money will also be used to bring in other reinforcements: an attacking winger, Nico Gonzalez as the first name, but also a right winger, like Wesley.

Be increasing the sell-on then if it's for that.

We could sell him for £22m and buy Tessman(£5m), Lund(£5m) and Engels (£9m) and still have some spare change lying around to find a winger.

This sounds like he will end up an Atalanta player it’s just how long it takes for them to reach what we are looking for. I would take a slightly lower upfront fee for a bigger sell on as long as it’s on his full fee and not just profit as I could see him replicating Koopmeiners and end up a €50m+ player.

Sad to see fans desperate to take the money for him. Id rather have a top quality O'Reilly here for 3 more seasons and have him go on a free than take the easy money now and downgrade on a project or loan.

And no evidence he is pushing for a move. This is all on the club.

Mate he via his agent has agreed terms with atalanta. We have a business model. Bring low, sell high and bank the cash that's how its done.
