If its gonna happen then get it done quickly.

My worry is then not having him on top of no extra striker, no left back, no CB etc and the days ticking by.

Would leave us with even more work to do. As I'm gonna assume we haven't been overly proactive in approaching potential replacements!

I just get the idea MOR is holding out for more. Sorry to any Brighton lurkers as use are 1 of the more stable prem teams but he has minimum 8 CL games with us and if he plays how he thinks he can then the bigger teams will be there for him.

What he might want is some sort of reassurance or something that plans are in place over the next few weeks to enable us to put up more of a fight this time round.

Not sure if that's something we would do or if we have plans in place. MOR is doing his part by sticking round so not the worst thing to be asking questions. I've seen loads of podcasts where players said they would ask the questions when in transfer talks.

i think it will drag on it will be a chain of players moving that will cause it to happen.... for example Gallagher going to Madrid then Chelsea looking at someone then it not working out something along those lines as few teams will be able to afford him

It's kinda sickening how far ahead of us teams like Brighton are.

Doesn't bother me as much as it does with some other teams down there, like Southampton. At least in the case of Brighton, they are a far slicker and more professional club than us. They're simply better run than we are. I do agree that a lot of mediocre English clubs are ahead of us purely on the TV money down there, though.

£25million and 15% of whatever they sell him for, should really be getting £35million for him once he has moved on again. If Brighton sign him he would probably leave them for £60-70million

I get Brighton are a well run football club playing in the best league but Matt O'Riley gives me the impression he's not solely motivated by money..I think he'll obviously be looking for a healthy salary but I think he'll be looking at a bigger club than Brighton to pay that salary.

Tbf to brighton they play good exciting football. Always like watching them. It would be another stepping stone for him. Go to them on better money for 2 years then move onto a better club

But the move gets him to that big club in a year or 2 and gets him in the Denmark team.

Has he been linked to them before ? I've got a picture in my head of him in a Brighton shirt for some reason.

Some yeah, but it's mainly EPL money. Almost every team at our comparitive level are miles behind EPL teams now, in terms of finances and what they can attract

Those saying he won't go to a club like Brighton are wrong. Mid-table EPL teams are his best hope of starting football. If it's not them, it's Southampton or West Ham or something like that. Soon as a £20m+ offer comes in from one of them, that's that.

They offer a route to the very top and the best shop window in football. I think it makes sense compared to going to a Chelsea or Liverpool and probably being a squad player at this stage. At Brighton he goes straight into the first team, they are a top half team, and if he hits the ground running he could get a much bigger move to a top 6 team if he wants it in a couple of seasons.

Good luck to him when it happens. He's been an absolute professional from day 1.
