It's situations like this that make the ability of a country to "claim" a player seem like horseshit!

He's eligible for others, but chose them, they then play him once and shelve him. But, they still retain the ability to punish clubs if the players don't attend at their beck and call... It's nonsense!

Not in favour of players chopping and changing, but if a player only has a handful of caps (say maybe less than 5) they should be able to switch, even if only once, if it's in their obvious interest. Not saying any player would ever do it, but they should be able to...

Well, the Danes are * raging about his omission.

Feel for him, there's literally nothing more he could have done this season to get in that squad, domestically and in Europe he was the standout.

Did Postecoglou not come out with similar tripe regarding Rogic? National team managers do have an air of superiority about them no matter who they are. Personally I think it’s almost a bit of wee man syndrome because any manager worth their salt certainly ain’t managing a national team. Oftentimes national teams have washed up managers with archaic tactical beliefs.

You don’t tend to get the same level of disrespect from club team managers - you don’t see Ancelotti, Simeone, Slot etc slating us over the last few years in the CL. Usually the opposite.

 

All their fans raging as well he’s not been picked, to be honest he’s earned a good break and he was gonna leave not matter just maybe a bit sooner now.

Yeah generally the best managers aren't doing national teams anymore, the money is far better elsewhere. You might find the odd one who fancies it as a civic duty for a few years but that's it.
