It might not be a big risk to you, but the money is not coming out of your pocket. Engels was a big risk, but the point remains he came with a good Bundesliga pedigree, and also Brugge background.

We did pay a whack for Idah, but it can be easily argued that he has already paid back his £9M transfer fee with his Cup Final goal and his contribution to us winning the league last year, and this year his all important Champions League qualifying goal against Young Boys, and what we all witnessed in his two goals against Villa.

You say Kvistgaarden's league is far more competitive, that's a matter of opinion, I disagree, I don't think it is. It is a lowly Danish league.

By all accounts, Kvistgaarden has had one good season, that does not make him a world beater, or worth the £13M asking price for a converted winger.

    Not in a million years.

It’s not about signing or not signing mate. It about how you determine what you’re willing to pay. All factors come into play.

You’re right, we will all come to a different conclusion on how much we will pay. All I would say is I think people are getting carried away because we’re cash rich at the moment and we’ve spent big sums recently. You’ve still got to pay fair value though.

Yep 100 appearance. Minutes played equivalent of 66 games.

He's got 38 goals and 17 assists in 5932 mins. A goal every 156 mins and goal contribution every 107 minutes.

Danish league is just behind Scotland in the coefficient and is a more competitive league. That's a cracking record for a 22 year old in any league and surely can translate it to Scotland.

Someone on KDS was arguing we should sign Jonas Wind. So I looked into him as a striker that moved from Denmark for big money. He signed for Wolfsburg for €12 million euros 31st Jan 2022, when he was just about to turn 23. His record for Copenhagen was 46 goals and 25 assists in 8328 mins. A goal every 181 mins and goal contribution every 117 mins.

So Kvitsgaarden has a better per minute record for a poorer side than Copenhagen were during Wind time. Plus Kvitsgaarden used across the front 3 and not starting as much as Wind did.

Lot of effort I've put in when Celtic ain't going to pony up the money for him though :31:

    Fully agree.

I wanted us to sign Wind, at the time as well. I think we would regret not getting this one over the line.

What I like about Kvitsgaarden is that when we were first linked he wasn’t doing anything special in front of goal. He’s now apparently realised the potential we saw in him and racked up plenty of goals. If he’s the man we want just get him in. I can see us getting him and Tierney in on deadline day to be honest but we shall see.

That's my thinking as well, both of them plus another, i'm quietly confident.

LB and striker needed out of necessity, can be no excuses.

Cheap panic loans won't cut the mustard, certainly not with supporters.

May mean nothing, but if Tierney ISN'T in the Arsenal squad to play City tomorrow, then thaf could be quite telling.

Well he's been in all the matchday squads recently, so f he was to not even make the bench tomorrow with deadline day on Monday, it could be.

    Although your probably right lol

This would be the best option. I'm sick at looking at this thread, knowing its the biggest scam since Finbogasson.

There were a transfer update by "the transfer "expert" in Danish football (Farzan) by Danish site Tipsbladet

No bids have been made for Kvistgaarden, neither by Celtic or any other club this window

Brøndby don't want to sell, even if the fee goes above 100m Danish kroner - that is £11m+ - but like every player, there is a point where the club can't refuse

Brøndby will most likely accept an offer in the summer

If we don't buy him this window we never will.

We've been scouting him for two years apparently, which means we've probably had about four windows to sign him.

Let's hope he doesn't go on to become a top striker, leaving us wondering 'what could have been'.

Brondby don't want to sell him, that makes it a lot more difficult for us.

Sounds like he’ll be our main summer target then, they’ll still ask for £11M+ though so may as well bite the bullet now.

If he goes onto have a great 2nd half season price goes up if he doesn't he is 6 months less into his contract and value goes down, like many if we didn't sign him this window I feel we never would
