dont confuse my reality check with a lack of enthusiasm....after all this is a forum to air our views... why do some people seem to take things so very personally and feel insulted when someone elses views differ from theirs..... i feel this guy will be a very good signing.... but in my opinion the fact he's a sub doesnt make him a so called blue chip player.
i'm entitled to my opinion am i not.

Who's a blue chip player jhimbhoab in your opinion and do you see us having the power to get them to the spl. I think not, but I understand your point. But as long as our league is as weak as it is, we will stuggle to get the sort of players any football fan craves. Remember one quote--'we don't buy legends, we create them'!!!!!

"blue chip player" i believe is a direct quote from mr strachan.

imo we will never sign a true blue chip player.
those are the kakas and ronaldinhos of the world. but..... thats why such enthusiasm was built up over the prospective signing being "blue chip players"
when mr strachan said hwe would land a "blue chip player"

but its all about opinions.... imo in donati we havent signed a "blue chip player" i am sure he will be a very good player. but a week ago for me he was a "who"

as for the legend we create.... yeah we ve had a few west of scotland legends... but world footballing legends...mibbees mr larsson but him apart... give me your list

Im really impressed with the board the realy want to get rattled into europe this year, should be interesting.

He sounds like a quality all round midfielder, can't wait to see him in action,i just bought myself the new top i might head up when he is being paraded and get it signed,i have a good feeling about this boy, thats based on absolutely nothing offcourse.

But he is also a versatile player. It gives Strachan the option to mix it up a little. If we have to go for it stick him and brown in the middle of the park with naka and riordan on the flanks. If we need to keep it tight,we can push him out to the left bring Sno and Brown in to bolster the midfield and keep it watertight.

    An astute buy i feel

as for di canio...if that boys a legend then can you list his
trophy haul and medals while at celtic park.to give him legend status.

the boy di canio was a good player, no dispute here.... but hardly a legend.

i'd love a billy mcneil or one of the lions who ARE legends to draw up a list of players in the last 20 years they think while at celtic park should be granted legend status.
i believe the list would not be very long.... sadly

Can't argue with that jimbhoab. There's at least 5 on jba's list who cannot be challanged as legends. 5 is more than enough

I am with jhimbhoab on this one. This is a guy who has been farmed out on loan to many clubs but they didn't have any real desire to sign him when
the loan expired. He sounds similiar to Wayne Routledge

His versatility may be a bad thing because he may not have a specialised position and so might end up like Jarosik, out of the team because he can't be fitted in or trusted in one position.

Also,he is coming from a completly different style of play and culture.I don't doubt that he is talented but you need more than talent to make it in in a foreign country

I am trying not to get excited about Donati because I was excited over the signings of Gravesen and Jarosik last summer and they turned out to be *.But like jhimbhoab I hope I am wrong.:50:

Di Canio couldnt get a game either (a bench warmer) and look how good he was.

Di Canio was not constantly farmed out on loan because he couldn't even near the bench like Donati.

That's because Di Canio never played for Milan. It's a bit harder to get in a midfield with Kaka, Seedorf, Gatusso and Pirlo don't you think>?
