dont hold back mate! the fact that shaun was player of the year in his first season is one of the reasons we should have broke the bank to sign him for a long time. he had the talent to go very far with us

No I don't think we need any mass clearout this summer. We have for the most part a very young and potentially very good side with the right additions. It is so easy to say get rid of this and that player. Well who are we going to sign to replace all of these players?
We saw what happened in the first half of this season when we gambled with having no squad depth in some positions. Plus obviously it isn't easy to attract truly top players to Celtic Park due to the low profile of the spl.
As in every off season there will and should be movement. Players who have moved on past their sell by date, players who can't get in the team etc. But we need to at least keep the size of squad we have now and look to add the right players such as a dominating physical center back to replace Balde and a true quality defensive center midfield to really anchor and galvanize the core of our team. Hopefully one of those players would have some really top leadership qualities as well and could take over from McManus as Celtic Captain.

We do need to take a look at midfield - WGS seems to have an obsession with buying CMs when he really needs CBs.

When Donati & Brown play together, that's the best part of 8 million quid running about in midflied - are they really that much better than Hartley & Robson?

There have been rumours that Newcastle wanted to make a big offer for Brown, I'd be more than happy to sell the useless * especially if we can make a profit.

Brown and Donati cost a combined 5.8m pounds.

Maloney is a *. He played one good season and believed that he was above Celtic. He had been average at best before that season. He was always injured. He has got what he deserves at AV, hope he rots in AV reserves.

Brown cost 4.4m but Donati only cost 1.4m.I remember Peter Lawwell coming out and saying it a month or two after he signed. It makes sense as well because why would Celtic have paid 3m pounds for a complete outcast in the last year of his contract?
Also I don't think the'd have the bottle to * 3m pounds on such a high risk signing so 1.4m makes sense.

Punt Naylor and Caldwell, as well as Donati should he fail to improve. I liked him, but he needs to have consistent form.

:50:strachan has had 3 season, not up to job. Those of you who think he should
be give more time, must be very young and unlike us older fans who have seen
real class players and teams.you young ones are use to seeing average players and think there good,if,not great players, there not.Even todays managers are over hyped, the modern game is over hyped.Time to bite the
bullet end of season the manager must go.Everyone is in agreement that
sacking the manager now,is not the time. This the worst team ever.

Celtic will be great again ...........but not with strachan..need young guy with a name to
make....big Mow would be worth considering.

I dont think being young affects my views! I know good players from bad ones and realise some of the current squad arent good enough for the level we want to compete at. And i wouldnt say i am used to watching average players. I have seen some very good players wearing the hoops. Players like Larsson and Lubo, and before that guys like Di Canio and Cadete.

    Dont be so patronising!

Tell me a Real Class Player, Real class team, cos I bet that everyone here on this forum knows about MON's teams, Larsson. Are you of Stein's era, because that was the last truely great side before this century and that was a long time ago

Now you're telling everyone that a manager that hasnt lost a league title here, isnt up to the job? That smacks of bullshit mate. Dont get blinkered on the last 4 games on me either, this team has produced some very good performances this season.

aye cause he has won 2 SPL out of two never lost one yet and has twice taken us to the last 16. All at a time when budget is down and the market grossly inflated. Course he is not up to the job. :31:

That's right he is NOT up to the job.Won league 1 against Big Eck who was on way out.Won league 2 against PLG who was out of his depth.Throwing away league 3 against a MEDIOCRE Huns team galvanised by the Loyal Cardigan and Sally McCoist.Three games Versus De Hun, 3 defeats no goals.Tactically INEPT

ok firstly, you think we should get rid of naylor. i think we should bring in a player better than naylor at left back and keep naylor in reserve he is a decent player is lee naylor, you need cover for every position. caldwell can leave agreed, centre backs must be bought in, and gettin the truly woeful ala caldwell off the bill is a must. yh donati can leave if we get the decent money. brown , naka, and vennegoor must all stay, ffs, why get rid of JVOH? the man has scored 55 goals in about a 100 games, and is a good player to have in the celtic squad. brown and naka are important for us, come on....as peter lawwell sats, we do not want to get rid of our best players we need to keep them, and add to the squad to add strength. you cant just chop lee naylor wot happens wen his replacement gets injured....he isnt that bad a player....IMO the key is not to get rid of everyone, only the truly bad...bring in strength and move players into a sub position ala naylor if needs be.

I doubt Naylor would stay if he wasn't a first team regular. His family have moved back to England I think so I reckon Naylor will want to leave if dropped.

If he was willing to stay around then I'd definitely keep him as we're not gonna get better back-up than Lee Naylor but as I've said,I don't think he'd stay if he wasn't first choice.
