I'm guessing the Same goes with Coyle, Bilic, Mcghee and Levein then?

Seems like we're going for him because WBA wanted 1m compensation for Mowbray

I said yes, as I would be happy with him: he is young, successful, and his teams play the Celtic way.

My first choice would still be Bilic.

But please let it not be Levein or Roy Keane.

Everyones spouting pish about having to have experience at managing.

Pep Guardiola just led Barcelona to the first ever Spanish treble including the European Cup at the right young age of 34 or something.

If you're good enough, you're old enough.

Roberto Martinez has an impressive CV as far as Swansea are concered, promoted in his first year, then just missed out on a Championship play off place?

Good enough for me, a much more exciting name than Mark McGhee.

All the managers we have been truly linked with seem to have one thing in common - they all play attractive football

For me that shows the board have actually listened to all the fans moaning that we do not play an attractive brand - or the Celtic way

I would be happy with Martinez, Mowbray, Bilic, Coyle and to a degree even McGhee - don't know what evidence so many have to be so adverse to his appointment

While he's undoubtedly done well at Swansea and his team by all accounts play good football, his CV is a little sparce for my liking. I know Guardiola has just won this and that in Spain but you have to look at the squad he inherited as well as the fact he managed the B team, and played for Barca for 11 years so knows the club inside out.

Martinez would be coming to a new club only a year or two older than half of the squad, with no experience of the pressures of a big club at any stage of his career. For me winning League One doesnt qualify you to manage Celtic, we should be aiming a bit higher than that.

I find it hard to accept the people saying he is one of the most highly regarded young managers in Europe, where are they getting this from?

As most other clubs are looking at him I think

Him and Coyle are the two biggest management prospects in the UK at the moment. Obviously a big team like us would have to take a gamble on them for their potential to be filled, it's either we get them now when we have a vacancy or the chance may go

The same goes for Bilic and Mowbray, I mean if we don't amble on BIlic just now he could end up at Real or something, it all just depends on how big a risk you want to take and the dividends you have the possibility of reaping in the future.

I voted yes. He wouldn't be my first choice but he's certainly better than a lot of names being suggested.
I would prefer Moyes but that looks like it ain't going to happen, sadly top six in the Premiership is a bigger attraction than Celtic.
Indeed we'd probably struggle to attract any Premiership manager in the current financial climate.
I have to say I actually am impressed by the Board considering him. He's not a safe "Celtic Man" choice, he has great potential, a good record, plays attractive football and he won't come cheap (contrary to some people's views) Wigan will offer serious money for him if they lose Bruce and as ridiculous as it sounds Wigan may have more cash to offer than us, so if the Board are to get him they will need to dig deep.
Of course there is concern about his experience, but there will be concerns about all. I rate Bilic but he's never managed at club level.
We could do a lot worse and I for one would applaud the vision of the Board if he was appointed

Bilic has done nothing in club football to warrant the job over anyone else

i dont think anyone can provide much evidence to suggest mowbray, levein, coyle, bilic or martinez would be any better or worse than each other.

As like players such as ,simon donnelly ,eion jess ,phil odonnell ,ian durrant and many more ,there was a lot of comparions made about the level they could play at ,on the strength of potential and they never made the mark ,this goes for managers aswell ,you have mentioned this guy in the same breath as mourinho ,theres a stigma straight away ,it doesnt work that way .

Yes for me.Everything I have heard and seen about this guy sounds like what we need(except his cv).Lets live in the real world,no top manager would touch scottish football just now.A guy playing football the right way and who wants to make a name for himself sounds about right for me.

Scoalri was rated as one of the best around and look at him at chelsea...with money. What makes us think Bilic, coming from international football would do better with celtic?!!

Martinez imo can't be slated as a bad choice when compared to the others quoted....by the media.
