Martinez for Celtic

I take Roberto Martínez without complaints.

Up-coming talented manager (as Bilic), who will switch to a bigger club soon. If not Celtic, then another.
A foriegner, with knowledge about UK football could be a good combination.

yeh exactly he may not be the most experienced but that shouldnt be held against the guy. he plays good football and i wouldnt mind celtic nicking a couple of there players

 

Right Folks, You cry you want an attacking minded manager and now that we have bid for possibly that brightest young manager in british football at the moment, Plays exactly the same style of football as mowbray plays, Is alot cheaper option than mogga, Promoted in his 1st season and finished 8th in his 2nd season in championship on a shoe string budget. I for 1 will be delighted to have martinez as manager well before half the names that have been linked with the job

I have to agree here.
I for one do want an attacking minded coach but, he needs to be able to change tactics when neccessary, for times when we are under the cosh.I don't think mowbray can do this.

 

Pretty much sums up how most Celtic fans think now, always wanting the cheapest option or someone below our level.

 

when martin o'neill took over at celtic what great experiance did he have at europeon level, Give the man a chance lads

 

time will tell if he would be good or not, if he becomes celtic manager you have to get behind him, give him time and see how he gets on. If he's crap, he's crap, if he's amazing then it's good news for everyone.

All i'm gonna say is Martinez is like Davie Moyes when he was at Preston, Everton took a chance and have one of the best managers in britain now. Whereas rangers brought in Paul Le Guen, thought they were sorted for years, came in did crap. Its just a roll of the dice.

 

we play in the spl lets face it. its hardly the most gripping league in the world. were not gna get a big name. he is just as experienced as bilic i will be happy with either tho more so bilic.

i will back anyone the club brings in

Celtic board are showing a distinct lack of ambition and Im embarrassed,distressed and horrified.

This I hope is Celtic throwing out another red herring to keep them off our real target.
A manager with the stature to manage Celtic,with CL experience.

I would change your pills mate, because the ones you are on just now are giving you dilusions of grandure. You're not the only one though to be fair.

Rijkaard was never linked with Celtic, it was a prank that members on here created. Martinez is a good choice IMO. Good football is what we all want to see and he can deliver it.

 

Not saying he is the man for the job, but he's obviously well thought of, plays attractive attacking football and is described in several broad sheets as the best young manager around. It would be Bilic for me, but if this guy gets it I'd support him 100%.

 

Martinez might even knock us back. He will be looking for a decent budget so that he will at least give himslef a chance of doing something in Europe. I get the feeling he might want Jason Scotland and i dont even think we can afford him.

 

i'm not even sure if i'd * rijkaard even if he wanted the job.

I'd much rather have a manager that could work within our budget and not end up falling out with the board every transfer window because of a lack of funds.

I don't really see why people think Bilic would be a great choice and Martinez wouldn't be. They're both unexperienced as each other but at least Martinez has done it at club level.
