Martin has officially confirmed he will be stepping down as Celtic manager after Saturday's Scottish Cup final with Gordon Strachan replacing him from June 1st on a years rolling contract. Martin said the news concerning his wife's health had been good last year and bad this year. I'd like to wish Martin, his wife and his family all the best for the future and sincerely hope his wife starts to regain her health over these coming months. Thankyou for 5 unforgettable years Martin O' Neill.

He was gutted and annoyed with himself over Sunday - he only said so about a million times.

Good luck to a man who has made us respected again, he won a lot with us, there were so many good nights, especially in Europe. Liverpool was amazing, all of that UEFA run. It's a sad time, but we now have something new to look froward to. MON let me experience the kind of European success that older generations told me of, and that I could only imagine. He made the dreams real.

I wish Gordon Strachan the best of luck for the new job. He will have it tough, living up to the standards MON's set.

MON you were a magnificent manager and an even better man. I wish you and your wife all the luck in the world and I hope Mrs O'Neill recovers. Hail Hail! Always in our hearts :bye1: x

Just read that Mark Mcgee has been approached about being NO 2 to GS.

AND it seems certain now that Henk will be playing on Sunday as a tribute to MON and Jackie!!!

Yeah TicChic. MON had a say in his appointment too. O'Neill said: "Hopefully Strachan is fit enough to provide something to the club I wasn't fit enough to do." (Or something along those lines). O'Neill thinks it will benefit both Celtic and himself if he resigns. There will be a press conference for Strachan next Tuesday.

Can't wait for Saturday now to give him a good send off.

I think the games on saturday and sunday will be more tearful than Henke's last games it is the end of an era with MoN, and many players eemingly playing their last games. * Bless You Martin and i hope he returns next year after all Strachen is only on a 12-month rolling contract.

Will be a great way to say goodbye to him on Saturday and a great way for the players to say goodbye too, by winning the cup. Only time will tell how Strachan does with us, lets all make him feel welcome, whether we agree with the decision or not.

I think with Larsson back for this testimonial and MON leaving it will be like one last game for the old bhoy's of Seville together. Will MON be in charge though as it says he will quit after the final?

Said in press conference MON will address the fans at CP on Sunday, so am guessing from that he will be in charge for the match.

Was thinking that myself, would like to see him in charge of that game, like you said, it would be one last game for all the bhoys from Seville to get together and say their goodbyes.

Think the tickets are 21 quid for adults and 15 for U16's.
