That's not what he said, that's maybe what you think he should have said, but it's not what he said.

He's a high profile, high paid youngster yeah, so what? Unless he makes a drastic and immediate improvement in our first team then I would rather look at permanentt signings and developing our own players, especially since we have cover in his position.

 

He's not coming.

Representatives from RM have held numerous meetings with the player this week. They strongly communicated to him and his family that they would like him to stay in Spain, preferably in one of the smaller Madrid-based clubs (Getafe is a perfect fit) in which they would be able to control his development.

There is very little that speaks for Celtic in this case. Delia is probably the strongest argument for him coming here, but it's nothing that the powerful men in Madrid would put much weight into.

We all make mistakes

 

Some Spanish based journalist been on talksport twice in the past couple of weeks suggesting it's virtually certain he's coming to us. No idea if the guy is in the know or not.

 

Never wanted this at first due to being a big advocate of Henderson and I really don't want him ruined, however I never knew Odegaard can play on the right and in that case I feel stupid for not wanting him.

The best young player in the world for a season possibly two at Celtic, we would be crazy to turn down that player never mind the exposure he brings.

 

I can't see it myself unless Madrid think rd will be able to take the big head out of the young boy cos I have heard he is a bit of a diva and is always making demands

 

He is as far as a diva you can get. He is really humble and down to earth. He has ambitions and wants to get better every day. He works hard and trains more than most professional players. From he was 6 (I think) he trained by himself (or with his father) for 3-4 hours a day. At Strømsgodset he trained by himself for hours after the official trainings. He loves playing football.

All the rumors from the spanish paper AS is just lies. The only demands he probably has made is to train with the first team which is in his contract. He chose RM so he could train with the best players. He is not getting 85k a week, it's probably closer to 30-35k. Rumors says Bayern München even offered more money. He doesn't develop at Castilla (Real. Madrid B). The Castilla boys are just jealous of him. I watched all Ødegaards games with Castilla and very often for a long period of the games they didn't even pass the ball to Ødegaard. The guys at that team is really ego. He doesn't have an attitude problem. Ødegaard is a playmaker. For him to be at his best, he needs the ball (of course!). Had they used him more instead of long passes or dribbling and losing the ball, they would have won more games.

If Celtic gets Ødegaard on loan the fans should be very excited. I look so much forward to each time Norway plays games, just because of him.

I can't believe anyone bought that pish about him being an ego-maniac. It's quite clear, from the way that he carries himself and the way that he's conducted himself so far, that he isn't. I'd say even say that he seems quite grounded. He didn't rush into his move to Real Madrid. He stayed at Strømsgodset until he'd finished school and took his time to pick the club that he felt he'd best develop at. I think his rumoured wages are well off the mark as well but that's just a hunch. I doubt Castilla is the best place for his development, so you'd understand why he's be a bit unhappy being stuck there, particularly if he were promised training with the first team.

 

Potentially the next Freddy Adu.
