Don't see the point in this transfer, like others have said we need to develop our own younger players in the middle of the park like Henderson ect.

Plus will he have to start each week? I would rather we have GMS, Armstrong and Stefan playing in the middle than a loan player taken one of their spots if Real force a deal where he needs to play everyweek.

Denayer impeded O'Connell's game time last season, in fact by more than Odegaard ever will for Henderson should he sign.

I think your logic is being shaped by personal opinions on individual players.

So you would rather we didn't have Denayer and we tried to develop O'Connell last season?

You know not every player comes good? Ronny said himself, if 1 player manages to break through every season, it's a huge success.

Maybe he'll live up to the hype, maybe not.

But in 2005, Barcelona were rumoured to be sending Messi out on loan. I imagine at that time some of our fans would have been calling for us to focus on developing Rocco Quinn and Paul McGowan instead :56:

No, 2005 wasn't Messi at his best and 2015 won't be Odegaard at his best if he lives up to the hype, but I'd love to see a guy who seems to be destined for the VERY top play in the hoops, if only for a year when they were young.

I'd rather I played than O'Connell because I think he is dreadful, you appear to be missing but strengthening my point at the same time.

O'Connell was never going to get much game time for us either way last year as we brought in Denayer to be our first choice center half and had it not been Denayer it would have been someone else keeping O'Connell out the team.

Signing Odengaard will directly effect how much time Henderson gets on the pitch next season.

If you think Odegaard is coming to Celtic to be anything other than a first team player, exactly the same as Denayer, you'd be mistaken.

You're talking like this upcoming season doesn't matter.

What if Odegaard takes this team to another level, and fires Celtic into the champions league last 16 and beyond? Would you still moan about him taking another players spot when he leaves come next summer?

So now you want a situation where this young player from another team is not only keeping out our best up and coming talent but also our first team players like Johansson, Forrest, Commons, Armstrong, GMS - the majority of whom are young and can only improve as a unit?

I just have this strong feeling that Odegaard is going to fulfil his potential, and in 2020 the Celtic fans who didn't want him to sign for a year because they'd rather have had Liam Henderson are going to seem a wee bit silly.

I want a situation? Nah his parent Club and him. Same way we'll want Findlay, McMullan, Waters etc etc all playing with their loan clubs.

Teams improve with quality players, if Deila deems this kid good enough to bring in onl an then he sees him as an improvement on what we have in those areas.

The chances are he won't though. He will be a good player right now for us, but it is very unlikely he will be the difference between the last 16 or not.

Messi is the greatest to ever kick a ball. There cannot be a comparison made in this case. This kid might not even become a top player even with his talent. And even if he even does become the best player in the world at some stage we are getting him this season and this season only. Ronny even said that at the minute he is nowhere near Commons level.

If he's as good as some folk say he will be good for Henderson Johanson and co, playing alongside class can't be bad and at the age of Henderson this might well be a great way of upping his game even more so as he's hopefully going to show balls and compete with him for a place in the side..
