He's good enough to play for us now, but not good enough to improve our team in any significant way. We have a lot of good attacking midfielders so we should focus on developing them.

He is more creative than any player we have. Just because we take a quality player on loan doesnt mean our own youth stop developing. The young guys could learn a * of a lot from this kid. Prime example of what youth players ij celtic should be striving towards.

Its like knocking back a 19 year old ronaldo or 17 year old messi. You just dont refuse having these types of players come and play for us.

I agree with this. It wouldnt hurt the club in anyway for a player of his potential and hype to be at the club for a bit. Could be a future Champions League winner and we could have our clubs name forever attached to his development.

Never seen the guy play. He could be the next Messi or the next Freddy Adu. How good he is right now is all I care about. I guess I'm a bit sceptical that he's good enough to walk into the team as I don't think we need him sitting on the bench and picking up a few minutes here-and-there.

It's a win win. It enhances our reputation to other top clubs and players that we are a side that can nurture and develop top talent and after seeing Denayer get a cap for rank 2 in the world i'm all for that. He's probably the most talked about 'wonderkid' in years so even having him in our side for a season would add interest to our domestic games and champions league games if we get there. We need the future stars of the game to see players like denayer and odegaard thrive at celtic so they/parents/agents don't write us off when we show interest in them.

Seriously though he is on a reported £80k a week how can we even justify 1/3 of us paying that! Don't think Madrid are gonnae say oh hear you go by the way we will pick up £70k of it! Non starter for me

    ridiculous.

We won't be paying much if any of his wages anyway and this won't even happen.

80k a week at 16 that's just unbelievable that's the main reason I do not see this happening imagine bringing him in even paying 1/4 of his wages that would be more than the weekly wage of most of the squad would cause an uproar

Money is obviously no object at Madrid. We would be doing them a favour taking him on loan, I don't think we'd be paying even a tenth of his wages.

And for me that's why the deal won't happen most Spanish teams could cover 3/4 of his wages no bother

Madrid dont care about the wages. They knew he wasnt going straight into the team and could have offered him a lot less in wages. They will be paying the wages regardless who he goes to. The most important thing is the right development

Norwegian media is saying he's on closer to 20k, which sounds more realistic. Anyway, my dad and I will go scouting tomorrow and watch him live when we play Azerbaijan. I'll let you know if we should get him :50:

    Could they ?

I would imagine outwith Barcelona, Real and Atletico they probably pay aroundvthe same, maybe a bit more than us.

Would love this boy here. Only for a season but you can't knock back one of the biggest talents in world football. Just enjoy him while we have him, if it happens.

Villarreal, Sevilla, Valencia and maybe 2 or 3 others could afford him easily
