I want us to get a more long-term replacement. A 35 year-old GK is kicking the can down the road.

I'm happy with a mid 30's gk. Let's face it...at celtic players tend to have a 3 year shelf life and if we sign a goalie at 34/35 we'll get 3 good years. Same as if we signed a goalie at 25...he'd be sold in 3 years.
So that age at gk is no problem for me

    Age is still an issue.

Take aside if one is currently better than another or not, you're more than likely to see a 35 year old drop performances big time in those three years over a 25 year old, who is likely to improve.

But even if both do stay for just three seasons, one gets us a transfer fee back. The other retires.

Seems surely more sense to go for the younger one?

That's not my point really. You should always go for the better player.
I'm just saying at gk position I don't see md 30s as an issue.

I would love to sign him. Much rather have a experienced GK like him than a 25 year old.

    Dubravka is a good keeper.

Its just not very imaginative. But I thjnk he'd provide more assurances than most. Its not an easy position to fill.

Ideally you sign someone like that and have a younger player to gradually take over but we don't. I can't see us signing both

Actually hasn't been too bad apart from his dodgy footwork in the 1st half

He isn't that bad jusr a slight mistake which I've seen most keepers make.

He's made a few solid saves.

Pure shot stopper, one * of a shot stopper, but like with many keepers on this Euro, the biggest scare for his NT happens if the ball is passed to him. It simply reinforces my distaste for attempts to build out of the back. Slovakia were lucky a few times, but TBH, he also saved them.

He's been fantastic this first half. Could be a match winner for Slovakia.
