Mark Wilson

Great news, been brilliant this season

 

I've been impressed with him this year and he's managed to stay relatively injury free. Obviously wants to play for the club as you can see that in his efforts on the park.

My mate Lewis who is a Falkirk fan said to me last month, "When did you get Mark Wilson?"

Me - "We signed him from Dundee Utd a few years ago."

Him - "No, I mean the new Wilson, where did you get him?"

I think he was basically complimenting him on how well he's played recently.

He may not be the most skillful or quickest player but you can guarantee 100% effort. He's also a die hard Tim and still has a season ticket!

Glad he seems to be keepong the injuries at bay and I hope he cements the right back spot as his

 

I would have been * off at this news, had he signed an extension at the start of the season but Mark Wilson has turned his Celtic career and my opinion of him around.

He has been almost faultless defensively, improved the offensive side to his game and managed to stay fit for the majority of the season. He's been one of our most reliable players this season, never seems to let us down in the big games either. Delighted for him because he's a good Celtic man.

Great news, think he may deserve a bit longer a deal but you always have to be careful that another injury is around the corner with Mark but for the moment he is fully fit and proving his worth for the team

 

I made a thread a few months back. And hea been great ever since, well done Mark!

 

Its good that he signed this deal not many players would sign such a short term deal, I think he values the club more than lining his pocket and thats rare in these days, well done Wilson

Think this deal has been done as more security for Celtic. Wilson, imo, has always been our best RB since GS signed him but injuries have really held him back. If he can stay clear of injury for the remainder of this year and hopefully nothing serious next year he will stay.

 

Good news. We can always add another year if things work out ok.

im delighted he's signed a new deal, even if he doesnt always start next year, great wee squad player at the very least, dependable and wil give his all, should have gave him a longer deal tho

Thoroughly deserved! So glad for Mark, he really wants to be at the club too, i just wish we had paid him back a bit more by making it at least 2 years. To think that Samaras has got a three year contract and that's all Mark has got is annoying. However I'm delighted for him, such a nice nice guy. Good interview on BBC sport website today too.

 

I've always been a defender of Mark Wilson and thought him to be a good player. He's a better full-back than either Andreas Hinkel or Cha Du Ri and it's really great to see him finally get some of the recognition he deserves.

 

Delighted when i heard this, he's been superb this season and he really does deserve it without a doubt.

I'm sure he'll be our right back for years to come.

Good piece of business this, whilst the kid has shown a great bit of form this year, he has to prove he can stay clear of injury.

I think he would have bit your hand off for this deal 6 months ago.
