Mark Wilson

I said this before I think that Mark is an excellent player and if he is fit enough to play for Leeds which was being considered before then absolutely he should be able to play for us still. He has issues with his knee I believe. But Leeds wouldn't be considering the loan if he weren't fit to play I don't think. I miss having him in the squad and its time he is given another chance he had some FANTASTIC appearances for us last year and I just don't understand what is going on. He did nothing in my opinion to fall out of favour with Lenny.

 

I disagree with what you say about Matthews, but I think Wilson definitely deserves to play more. I'm still undecided as to who's better out of him and Matthews, but Wilson's definitely better than Cha and based on the Aberdeen game, Lustig (though I know this is an unfair comparison to make after just one game.) Wilson has been a fantastic servant for the club over the past 6 years and has had a really difficult time with injuries. Last season was the first where he really got a full season under his belt not hampered by injuries and he was terrific. I'd hate to see him leave this season and want him to at least get a championship medal.

 

If he's fit, I would bring Wilson back in at right back.

I like Matthews, but I prefer a fit Wilson. 'Fit' being the operative word.

 

I would love Wilson back too. To me, some forget that Matthews is still only 20 and at that age consistency can be a struggle, especially when your playing every week. Just look at Forrest.
Wouldn't be the worst thing if he was rested a couple of games and if Wilson is fit give him some game time. Always rated Wilson as our best RB, even when Hinkel was here. Always just had problems with injury.

 

Is it just me or is Mark Wilson a very average player??

An honest trier but lets face it quite average.

Matthews hasn't been as dynamic of late but is still twice the player Wilson is.

Lenny sees these players every day in training and it would seem he's 4th choice RB behind Matthews, Cha & Lustig. He won't play for us again so non starter.

 

Was great seeing him yesterday, always liked him as a player, does anyone know if he's still injured? Think this will be his last year at Celtic as I'm sure his contract is up at the end of the season

 

he started training again just before christmas I think don't know if he has resumed full training but I don't see him playing for us again

He's played in 6 league games. I don't think that's enough but I might be wrong.

 

He deserves a medal if only because he was a star last year when we should have won and IMO were a better team than this year.

 

no your right think the club will apply to the sfa for a medal on the grounds that he has been injured so he should get 1

 

will Loovens get one? I think he deserves it.
