It's a real shame for Mark.

Had it not been for injuries he could've had a great Celtic career and maybe even our captain.

I'll wish him well, no matter what.:50:

Id disagree....it wasnt bad, but it was just solid defensively, attack wise it was pretty poor......whereas commons and izzzy was exciting and also not bad defsensively

i also think Adam Matthews is our best RB

I really like Wilson but Matthews is way ahead ability wise.

he,s had a really bad time with injuries and i think it,ll be difficult to get a regular place now. decent player when he was fit though.

Massive respect for Wilson. Always gives his all, never moans when he gets dropped, signed a new contract (last one) when he could not get in the team and I hope he plays in a couple of more games this season to make sure he gets the league winners medal he deserves.

It looks like we will let him go in the summer and I think its a bit sad that we will not keep him around. More than good enough for the SPL and whoever picks him up will get a good player imo.

I thought he was brilliant last season.

Probably get slated but i don't think Matthews is the player he is made out to be and would rather have Cha starting - i do like Matthews long throws as an option, though.

Pretty strange how Mark hasn't even came out and spoke about his situation. Very reserved man.

Get him a medal at least. Just through him on another 5 or so times. He deserves it.

He was excellent last season but his legs are away, he might just scrape playing for Leeds now but at our sort of level he is done.

Shame, he never really got a full season with us

Needs some sort of recognition for his service to the club. Been here for a long time and has given us a lot of good memories.

    Mark Wilson return?

I feel Matthews is highly overrated, a good young player but without his pace he offers very little. Wilson is a much more complete defender.

Wilson is the best right back in the squad, his contribution last season was outstanding. What a player he would have been if not for injuries, vice captain also during last years campaign. Any update when he is back or how well his surgery went?

Having Wilson in the team gets the best outta Izzy, imo. It gives of them licence to pin teams back. If one is more hesitant to get to the by-line than the other then the balance is off and teams can break away on one side. Wilson and Izzy hem teams in.

I remember dundee utd away last season when won 3-0 and wilson and izzy dominated the game completely, controlled the play with the bombing overlap runs. Need these two back ASAP

I don't think he will play for us again and personally a would rather stick with matthews and get him the experience needed to develop further as a player. what happened yesterday will be a learning curve for the likes of matthews, wanyama, forrest and even stokes to an extent, if we aren't willing to stick by these players and give them those sort of games which win, lose or draw are going to further develop them then there is no point investing in young talent

Yeah but breaking young players into the team off the bench would have been more beneficial IMO. No coincidence that Wanyama, Forrest and Matthews are all in poor form, they have nailed down positions across the starting XI despite all being under 21.

i think that would only be beneficial if they weren't starting 11 players all these guys are starters for me and keeping them on the bench and bleeding them in would only hinder there development. every player goes through a dry spell wether your 20 or 30 its part of the game sticking by these players whilst they go through a bad patch is only going to benefit the team when they find there form again
