He's had success at international level and the high end of the Premiership. We can't realistically ask for more. I really can't see any real argument against Sparky here.

Yeah! Get where you are coming from mate! True. :50:

Would Lennon even know what to do in the transfer market that's my worry! Hughes is great at spotting a good player!

The thing we need now more than anything is stability, yes we also need pride and passion from our manager and players, so let's give Neil Lennon some time to prove himself.

He's got until the end of the season to show us what he can do.

But, I'd rather trust someone with more experience - like Hughes - with the task of stabilizing the side and making us hard to beat, like his Blackburn sides. Lennon has never had to do anything like that in his entire life, and won't be tested that way between now and the end of the season aside from in the Scottish Cup (two games? Not enough).

If it's a straight choice, it's Sparky every time.

A manager like hodgson or moyes, someone who has a good background and manages to get their teams to play well, as a unit, there will be someone out there, Lennon should be their number 2 or go out for experiance and come back in a few years

But we'd never get Moyes or Hodgson up here. Also, Hughes HAS a good background:

    Wales (1999-2004)
Reached the playoffs for qualification for Euro2004.

    Blackburn Rovers (2004-2008)
Kept Blackburn up and reached FA Cup semi final in first season.
Finished sixth in second season, taking Blackburn into Europe, and beat Chelsea, Arsenal and Man Utd (twice). Reached a second FA Cup semi final.
Reached the UEFA Cup Round of 32 and a third consecutive FA cup semi final in 2006/07.
    Finished seventh in 2008.

    Man City (2008-2009)
Got a fairly turbulant Man City up to sixth while basically having his team picked for him.

They are some pretty impressive achievements. I for one would not complain about Mark Hughes as manager. Think he is a good manager and maybe Celtic is just the place to try add to a somewhat already impressive C.V.
Problem is I think he would want a huge transfer kitty and i think we need someone who will bring in a few but bring through our youth players that we have been signing up for the last 3-4 years.

Mark Hughes would be quality, I've wanted him in charge for years. C'mon Desmond , push the boat out here like you did with MON.

How so? He had a smaller budget at Blackburn than he'd get here but did excellent, and uncovered some fantastic bargains along the way.

Here he could be winning silverware and getting into Europe every season. The way Martin O'Neill's stock rose up here will also not have gone unnoticed by ambitious managers down in England.

    Mark Hughes:

    Wales: played 41, won 12, draw 15, lost 14, win percentage 29.27%
    Blackburn: played 188, won 82, draw 47, lost 59, win percentage 43.62%
Man City: played 77, won 36, draw 15, lost 26, win percentage 46.75%

    Total: played 307, won130, draw 78, lost 99 win percentage 42.35%

Do we really want someone who in his ten years of management has a worse win percentage than TM had in 9 months at celtic? And even his 51% was our worst ever!

Mark Hughes has never won over 50% of his games no matter where he has been and whatever his transfer budget, and we all know you need to have alot higher than a 50% win percentage to manage us and keep your job!

I say he ain't the answer.
