I would rather we signed that simon * guy . He is more prolific and younger than fortune and also cheaper.

I think he looked solid in the premiership, arguably the best league in the world, we can't say that's the case in Scotland. I reckon he'd more than do a job.
5 goals in 17 starts isn't prolific, I grant you, but given that he only spent half a season at a side that were always destined for relegation and managed to bang in those 5 goals must say something of his worth.
It takes time to settle in any league you go to and he still scored goals.
For me he's the priority signing during the transfer market (not counting LB), not because I think there isn't better out there, but there isn't better that wants or will come to Scotland.

I don't know much about him, and his scoring-record don't look that great.

But if Mowbray wants to pay that much for him, and clubs like West Bromwich Albion (in EPL), Hull City, Fulham, West Ham United and other english Premier League clubs wants him, I must give them my trust.

Nancy´s sporting director Nicolas Holveck revealed a changing picture yesterday, however, when he said: ´We had expected the business with Marc-Antoine to be concluded by now but other English Premier League sides have now entered the picture.´

Agent Michael Manuello added: ´Marc-Antoine has yet to make a decision and I don´t expect there to be any move until at least Wednesday.´

Aye, West Ham the world beaters.
I would be happy if he went to the EPL coz the guy is not worth more than 2 mil, tops. I just don't see the fuss about Fortune and spending 4 mil on him is just ridiculous. As someone said earlier on this thread I would much rather go for simon *. He's young and is a good finisher that will only get better.

Apparently, he played really well against Motherwell a couple of years ago, in Europe.

I wouldnt read too much into that transfer figure as thats all paper talk just look at sammy and jvoh was supposed to be 3.5 mill and i read it was actually 2.2 mill so until we hear the truth lets not get bent out of shape by price . As i said we can all have our opinion on how good he is but at the end of the day the managers opinion is more important AND lets be honest his opinion is based on experience that we dont have so lets wait and see

CELTIC are refusing to give up hope of landing main summer target Marc-Antoine Fortune - despite fresh competition from the Premiership for the Nancy striker.
West Ham have now entered the race for the 27-year-old along with long-term favourites Hull, Wolves, Portsmouth and Fulham.
But Celtic representatives were due to meet the hitman in Paris today in the hope of convincing Fortune to re-join Tony Mowbray, who was his boss last season whilst on loan at West Brom, after a £3.8m deal was agreed with his French club last week.
The 27-year-old seemed certain to join Hull over the weekend, but has yet to make up his mind. And Celtic hope his relationship with Mowbray - assuming personal terms can be struck - could be their ace card.

cant blame the player for looking at all his offers i mean although hull play in the epl they avoided relegation by the skin of their teeth . Furthermore i want to see this guy play for us as i think he is a decnt player and will give us another option as i feel both our other strikers play better of a big man who can hold the ball up so i believe he will do a good job for us

Did burchill or donnelly ever score 35 goals in one season at the age of 21, no they did not. This boy * has it all and for 2.5million then thats worth the gamble i think.
