Still not sure for that amount.

If it's £1m then take a gamble, if not spend the money somewhere else.

Wolves appear to have cooled their interest in signing striker Marc-Antoine Fortune, who spent the second half of last season on loan at local rivals West Brom.

Representatives of the Nancy player claimed last month that Mick McCarthy's side and Fulham were vying for his signature.
But it seems the Cottagers, Hull and Celtic are the main challengers for 27-year-old Fortune.
Tony Mowbray had been hoping to keep Fortune at West Brom on a permanent basis before he replaced Gordon Strachan at Celtic earlier this week.
Fortune's representative Michael Manuello confirmed: "I have not heard from Wolves for a long time. The club has to make an offer and we have been patient.
"But if the club does not make an offer, then we move on. We have been waiting for people to come back with an offer."
McCarthy is keen to supplement the firepower of Sylvain Ebanks-Blake and Wolves have been linked with the likes of Tottenham's Darren Bent and Reading's Kevin Doyle, although the duo are unlikely to be in Wolves' price range.

At the end of the day, you can't just base your opinion on a player on his stats. If he is the piece of the jigsaw Mowbray needs for his plans then his value can't be estimated. We are just gonna have to trust the big man's judgement at least until we start playing games again.
Speaking of which I canny wait... only, what, 3 weeks to go now??

Interesting to see a few quotes from Grant about the player.

    Thanks for that mate.

I still think he would be smashing for around £1m - but not £3.4m.

I reckon we could haggle them down to £2.5m then the rest in performance bonus'? Would be a good buy at tht price. Seems to hold ball up well and link up with the Midfield according to Grant. Something that has been non existent in the last 2 seasons under Strachan.

I notice the part where Grant admitted Fortune doesn't score many goals was left out of the quote. We need someone who SCORES goals FFS! From what i seen of Fortune at WBA he didn't look a £3M player and he missed at least 1 absolute sitter, i can't understand why people are desperate for us to get him.

£2.5m for a player who cant net the goals to save himself, what an utter waste of our totally meagre funds as it * is. Plus the fact he's 28, we'd get about 2-3 years out of him, and if he sucks, make no money back. Probably want too much wages too.. Why not just sign Dindane from RC Lens?
