no they have no say. Whichever team drafts you, thats where you go basically. Now the player can be a * and say i dont wanna play for you, but the team that drafted him still holds his rights and he cant just go play for another team.

yea the only time a player has any say in where he goes is when his contract is up and he's a free agent or if he has a no-trade clause in his contract and he can void a trade if he doesnt want to go to the other team

what you mean? you mean their contracts can be bought? yea i guess they could but unlike in Europe theres no other league like the NFL or MLB for them to play in. Basketball players can go play in Europe but they always end up coming back to America anyways. But when a player gets drafted, even if he doesnt sign a contract, the team that drafted him owns his rights which means that they need to be compensated if he wants to play for another team in the same league. he cant just buy his rights back, he can go play ina lessor league but most dont because they wont make as much money. and if he does come back, that team will still own his rights

Fortune is digging into the time we could be spending trying to sign a striker who wants to play for us. The CL qualifiers are getting close and we could be stuck with what we have, * forbid.

call me paranoid but this feels familiar.
It seems that for the last few years someone leaks it out from Parkhead that we are going for this big name signing, we then go through weeks and weeks of speculation and the usual will he wont he sign and at the last minute it all falls apart and we end up with a late panic signing like Willo Flood (no offence to him) sure im right when i say it was Martin Stranzl last year.
The parinoid bit in me makes me think this is the sharp suits way of keeping us happy by telling us the club are willing to spend but the players dont waht to come for what ever reason so its not really their fault.
As much as i hate the huns when they want aplayer they just seem to sign them and dont go through the same * we have to suffer,
OR AM I JUST BEING PARANOID ???????

hopefully with a new manager we'll have a new streak of luck with signings. It seems to me, granted ive only followed soccer/football for a few years, that Celtic get linked to alot more players than rangers do, so theres more opportunities for us to get our hopes up and get disappointed when it doesnt work out

your just paranoid its a * for us because we are the fans but you have to accept he wants to check out all is options because as has been said this maybe his last big contract and for a guy who came into the ganme late and hasnt earned as much from it as a lot of players he is quite right

I thought after Mogga's press conference last week, it would have been sorted either way by now. Surely we'll know either way in the next 24 or 48 hours.

I agree the lad has a big decision to make, its an easy one for us to say its a no brainer were a big club, but lets face it we are all a tad biased. The lad has no affinity for any British club and at his age he needs to sort himself out and think of his family and future.
On the flip side the Evening Times reckons we should know by tomorrow, this is now the 3rd or 4th time that a day for a decision has been mentioned, if this comes and goes a decision has to be made on telling him take the offer now or its withdrawn. I agree with giving him time but enough is enough.
