Don't know mate, but I still don't see point in travelling 1100 miles (could be Glasgow based lads, although unlikely) and bringing banner that has nothing to do with Celtic. And I honestly don't see the point in this Parkhead protest as it can hardly achieve anything, this guy won't leave Dinamo as long as he's comfortable with ruining and downgrading the club and stealing some hefty cash. No banner will change that.

what about basque politics, irish politics, middle eastern politics, world politics.
this stuff matters to a lot of people and they will fight their cause in the highesst profile way they can.

OC, i agree its unlikely to change anything but it cant do any harm to the Dinamo boys to try and win more support for ousting the prat

    irony for you right there..

and as the other guy said, its easy to lose track of things in that region, and to be honest i dont really care too much about making a mistake about the language spoken in a country thats younger than me :56:

Is this the guy who sacks manager's like it's going out of fashion? I always liked Dinamo but I dunno if they should be protesting at Celtic Park, seeing as the guy is in Croatia and probs wont see it

That's just a sign of your stupidity.. Since you have no idea about the region.. You should be quiet about it and not look stupid in front of people who know a thing or two about it...

I know it is hard for people like you to get informed... After all it's not like you can figure things out magically by googleing a them..

Baybe you should look at this..

That makes you look like a tool. Though, most people in GB know jack * about Croatia, so it's not a surprise. I can understand someone not wanting Croatian sport/politics issues on CP, and I'm fine with that. But your attitude annoys me.

it was google that told me it was serbo croatian, so stop being so condescending :50:
and actually i dont particularly care about croatian football politics being brought here, i just get * off when people talk to me as if im an idiot just because i dont know quite as much about the country they live in as they do :87:
plus since when is being well versed in the linguistics of the old yugoslavia a requirement for being allowed to post on a celtic forum ? :87:

No, but your statement about not caring for mistakes made about countries younger than Scotland bugs me.

i said countries younger than me..not scotland. its a little difficult to keep up to date with the ever changing details of a (relatively) new country, especially one thats barely (if ever) mentioned in the news over here..and anyway all i did was mix up the language they speak now with the one they used to speak, its hardly crime of the century :97:

    ANYWAY, back on topic..
anyone know why these fans brought the banner to celtic park yet ? be interesting to know if theyre scottish or croatian

You are basically right mate, it is serbo-croat.

The problem is, by calling it anything at all, you have stepped into a linguistic/nationalistic minefield. Some linguists say it is Serbo-Croatian, some say it's Croatio-Serbian. Others say Croatian is just a dialect of Serbian, others say it's a completely different language in its own right.

It's a bit like if there was a banner saying "Smell yir maw", and you said it was written in English, and some guy comes back at you and says, no, it's Scots you philistine. The language people speak hasn't changed very much in the last 20 years - only the names have changed.

To get totally back on topic, I think Mamić is pretty funny myself. But he's one of these guys that is much funnier from a distance - if he was Celtic's chief exec I'd be the one holding the banner. :50:

I cant see what the problem is either to be honest. Fans from one club showing their support of another club, Being a Bohemians fan from Dublin I see the Celtic Flag at Dalymount and I dont see a problem with that.
