maloneys contract talks canceled

He was the one guy that I thought wouldn't pull something like this although we should have seen the signs with his constant stalling.
It's not so much that he would want to go but why can't he state his intentions or what is on his mind........ be more up front and more honest..... he could learn a lot from Henrik in that respect.

Well just let him sit on the bench. The club has nurtured him since he was a boy and even stood by him for the time he was injured........ loyalty obviously costs nothing although I suppose it's a bit naive of some of us to expect him to knock back the chance of millions.......would we?

 

If Shaun goes, Riordan just needs to step up and fullfill his full potential and push Aidan and Naka. Riordan certainly showed the potential at Hibs to make Maloney a distant memory if he really goes for it. Hope Riordan starts again tomorrow either as a striker or wide, depending on who is fit.

 

let him go, if he wants 2 go 2 villa r spurs + win f.all they that just shows his ambition... he had 1 good season with celtic + he thinks he's a star..

if he was so good why r the so called giants of the epl looking 4 him i.e-man u, arsenal,liverpool,chelsea...... let him go....

Am agreeing with most of you, one good season does NOT justify the sudden inflated ego. If he doesnt want to sign get him to *, simple as that. He's a good player but he's not irreplaceable so i'd let him go without thinking twice.

Also heard today West Brom are considering approaching Celtic about a possible loan deal for Riordan...

 

Greedy wee git! If he was a true Celt we wouldn't be hearing this *. Apparently he thinks he should be top earner in the side after one good season in a crap league last year. What did he do against Benfica and co???

 

If he signs I'm sure all your reactions will be completely different instead of slating him.

 

If he signs very good but he should not be making such a fuss of it in the most important period of our season so far.

and yeh, yeh I know thats alot for celtic nowadays but we'll be offloading big earners anyway, this wont break the bank.

Shaun is like an employee anywhere else in the world he has seen out his contract and is entitled to move on if he wishes,we might not like it and we might think he owes us something but that is not the point..If he goes i like pretty much else think he he will regret it but its his choice.It's not as if he did a Van Hooydonk(sp)and went on strike

 

well gravesen gets like 50k a week and shaun wants like 25-30. i say we half gravesen's wages and sign on shaun. value for money.

I do not forget how good Maloney is and how good he could become given he is only 23. But Lawell certainly seems to have made every effort to keep Maloney on board. I do not want to loose Maloney no question about that. But at least we have a ready made replacement in McGeady who actually starts ahead of Maloney if everyone is fit for me anyway on form this season. Plus we have Riordan. So at least we have plenty of talent there. It is always hard to say for sure what is really happening but it looks at least to me that Maloney is the problem and is the one who is walking away. That is a shame and I think a mistake on his part. But as I said if a player really wants away not much we can do about it and we do already have his equal in McGeady and a very good prospect in Riordan there in his spot.

I'm completely bored out of ma * hearing about this. The media would like to believe the Celtic fans are losing sleep over this but nothing could be further from the truth.

If he doesn't sign then I would look to move him on in January if possible. Players come and go, that's just football for you.

We have McGeady and Riordan who can play in his position, and I would also look to buy another midfielder in January, hopefully Scott Brown.

Sign, don't sign, I just don't give a * anymore. The club is bigger than any player and we will go on with or without Shaun Maloney.
