Did anyone watch the San Jose Earthquakes V LA Galaxy?What a game that was.4-3 to the Earthquakes, but it could have been anything.I dont think ive seen such an open fast paced end to end game in a long time.Great viewing........and "Becks" spat the dummy oot at the end!!!!

 

River have been struggling a bit sure over the last few seasons although they did just win promotion back to the top division. But Boca won the Argentine league in the first session and were right near teh top in the second session just finished and are going well in the Copa Lib so Boca are right there with the top clubs in South America at the moment.

 

Seen that match. Why do they always say trade mark free kick by Beckham? He hardly scores them anymore! I don't even remember him doing that much for United. And I've seen all what 83 of his goals for United?

I posted that over a year ago when they were both toward the bottom (and Boca had some relegation worries as well). :icon_mrgreen: I keep a close eye on the Argentine game, and even more Boca is in the Copa Libertadores final against Corinthians, so they've done more than bounce back.

 

Cant stand any of the American sport leagues, so plastic and fake.

I blame the Yanks for the recent after goal music craze as well, you dont hear the roar of a crowd anymore, just some * dance music blasting out.

 

Having watched both, I'd say that there parity between most MLS and most SPL teams (outwith Celtic and formerly, Rangers). I'd even say the top 7-8 MLS teams are better than most of the SPL, again outwith Celtic

I rate our two leagues similar.

 

Pretty unfair haha. We don't have music playing after Red Bulls goals here in NY.

 

Hate to say it, but I think the MLS would be able to compete and challenge for the league title in the SPL. Celtic are class, but the rest of the league is pretty much *.

I have to be honest mate.....last nights game was an eye opener for me.I believe if the San Jose Earthquakes played over here...they would win the SPL in a canter!

Best atmosphere you'll get as far as authenticity is college football (American), which has huge stadiums and intense fan awes. Hockey is probably next.

 

Some of the things the yanks sing is hilarious, I remember seeing a video of them all jumping around singing 'we believe that we can win', very different to chants of 'who the * * are you' over here...

Got to admit I have googled some of the American football stadiums and they are unbelievable, better than any stadiums over here.

 

This. I couldn't even bare to watch 2 minutes of an MLS match, would rather go and watch my local highland team side than watch that pish

 

Watched a game on ESPN the other week, 2-1 to Dallas (I think, it was on at 2am in the morning, so team names are sketchy). Apart from the commentating it was a decent enough watch.

"Ball into the 6" and "passes it back to the stop-valve" were highlights though.

I`m glad Fraser Foster is our stop-valve.

 

I think its decent to watch when ive seen it, teams are fairly open. Reminds me of the Dutch League but with a slightly less quantity of good players.
