The Mets have more money than sense but Cohen isn't totally stupid, He spent so much last season that it gave the Mets the most expensive team salary in the history of Baseball, and they finished 4th in the NL east which is why during the season he traded away many of the big stars he had paid for and unfortunately for the Mets they didn't get much in return so they can't really count on their Farm system either, as for the Yankees, both Hal and cashman have been under so much criticism the last few years that I wouldn't be surprised if they offered an such an insane amount of money that even george was rolling in his grave

No Cubs fan is going to against Ross, and everyone feels for him but Counssell is a step up. Ross was all about the vibes, but his in game management wasn't that great I think. He rinsed the bullpen, and September was brutal. We kept finding terrible ways to lose close games.

Now need to a least be in for Bellinger and get him to first, get Mike Tauchman back at centre, and some much needed arms. Stroman is gone, so the starting pitching needs people desperately as I only really trust Steele.

Either one of Snell, Nola or Yamamoto would be nice, but chances are slim. A bullpen arm or two is needed as well, Alzolay was the only guy that filled me with confidence. Merryweather and Leiter where par.

 

Would like to see Yamamoto head to Boston. He’s been linked and what he beings to the table is what the Sox need.

10 year at the Dodgers for $700 million. According to MLB.com he has got a lot of deferrals on the wage so he will be getting a pay check longer than Bobby Bonilla.

Pitchers and catchers will already be, the rest must be rerporting in for spring training any day now.

 

Been doing some catch up in prep for the new season. Red Sox really not been doing the business this off season with regards to recruitment... sound familiar? Think if they can get above a .500 season that'll be about right... although how well that'll do in the stacked AL East, a WC spot is maybe the best they can hope for - and even then as an outsider at the moment.

Obviously, this is all long way before pitch 1 of Opening Day, but it doesn't look good. But with the Blue Jays, Stinkees and O's all looking like powerhouses, could be another tough season for Red Sox nation.

 

The Rancid Sox and the Yankees are going to need to accept the prospect of a very long rebuild eventually, The Orioles and Rays are stocked and in the Orioles case they probably have one of the best Farm systems right now so they can sustain success for a long time, I think the Yankees, Blue Jays and Sox will be battling for 3rd and a possible WC spot for the foreseeable future

 

I'd say your currently sitting on a worse team than last year. Something is definitely going on with the owners. They want out at Liverpool too. For being such an economic powerhouse, the owners wanting out can surely be the only reason for tanking year after year.

This off season you have lost 3 of you 12 best players in WAR. Alex Verdugo no.4 with 2.6. Justin Turner no.10 with 2.1 and Chris Sale no.12 with 1.7. Verdugo & Turner off to division rivals too. Turner was second in runs and RBIs only to Devers, Verdugo third in runs scored.

Giolito has come in... not a great season last year. Gave up the most HRs, 4.88 ERA. Only bright side is he can eat a lot of innings. Heard your getting Liam Hendriks which is really weird seeing that he is still injured. The bats don't look like they have been replaced at all yet.

 

A really interesting article on possible MLB expansion to 32 teams, I would rather they expand than allow teams to move but I also know a lot of people will be looking to avoid the disaster that was the Diamondbacks and Rays in 1998, basically destroyed all faith in Bud Selig at the time.
