Very odd. Obviously came as CCV’s partner and did well initially despite CCV being out. No glaring deficiencies other than slow on the turn and i can only remember one mistake when he defended Miovski awfully at Pittodrie last season.

Quite comfortably the best passer of the centre halves, rattles it into the number 8’s when he can.

I actually think it goes back to as far as Rodgers making a big deal out of being robust and available. Scales was getting credit for it from him and he essentially called Nawrocki a shitebag.

Brought in as CCVs partner like you say but have only started 3 games together.

1st 2 games of the season last year, although CCV only lasted 45 mins of the second game B4 doing his hammy. Then a game v at mirren in April

Every one of our CBs looks better next to CCV, but he never got the chance very often, and never really got to build a partnership.

He does look to have something about him and I'd argue so did Lagerbielke, and i'd also argue they both look better than Scales, especially on the ball but Rodgers definitely doesn't rate either of them. Whether that's as you mentioned their lack of robustness or due to them not being his signings. Barely anyone has survived from that 1st window, it's as if Rodgers has used those players to send a message to the board.

Also worth pointing out Lagerbielke has never played 1 minute with CCV

Just out of interest. Do you know how many goals we conceded when he played?

Pure speculation, but if I had to guess I would say there’s nothing really wrong with his ability.

I think it’s probably a question of attitude. Not to say he has a ‘bad’ attitude, maybe he just doesn’t show any real desire to be here and want to play regularly.

    Who knows?

The guy has talent but doesn’t get game time, if he is not pulling his weight then move him on, I am sure his lack of game time will become public eventually?

Didn't Lagerbeilke and scales go on a decent run of form early last season?

Yeah mate, limited game time (6 games) but Killie game in the cup is only goal we conceded domestically when Lagerbielke played.

Difficult to argue with results and success but can't help but feel Rodgers treatment of both was more part of a bigger story behind the scenes.

Don't think their is much between Nawrocki, Lagerbielke and Scales tbh. Both far better than Welsh but both were behind him in pecking order too

My line of thinking as well.

That window, I think at the time only Narwocki was questionable to be a "Rodgers signing", but that was only because some had dug up apparently Leicester sniffing/scouting him as well.

Think what the manager has since said and acted, it's clear that entire window was nothing to do with Rodgers.
Similar can go for January 2024 to an extent.
Think Rodgers called it all out after January after giving them the benefit of the doubt about summer 23 and signings guys like Nawrocki.
And since all of that, it seems he's just against any signing that is utterly thrusted on to him and he hasn't wanted/positively agreed to.

Even Bernardo seems an odd one at times - but this is now a massive tangent to Nawrocki.

Yeah think it right mate and January 2024 window actually worked out well but don't necessarily think Khun was a 1st choice but at least he is a Rodgers style of player and think Rodgers used his own contacts to get Idah after more * about from the Lawwells.

Bernardo definitely not a Rodgers signing either but has done well and permanent signing would have been down to Rodgers.

Things looked to be going better in terms of recruitment this year but January was another failure and same old problems regarding lack of ambition and matching managers ambitions still persist and probably always will while certain people remain on our board.

Bringing it back on topic id expect, Nawrocki, Lagerbielke, Holm, Palma and likely Yang all to move on this summer leaving Bernardo as last man standing from that summer 23 window.

Ahh cmon now. I remember the game at Ibrox and we kept a clean sheet, but Scales was outstanding that day, whilst Lagerbielke gave away the ball countless times in dangerous areas. So it’s not as simple as “how many did we concede” to be honest. There’s a reason he played very little. Unless you think Rodgers left him out the team just for the craic.

He also started away in Feyenoord when we lost and he was sent off by the way.

Was it not rumoured that he basically couldn’t handle the intensity of training and multiple games a week without picking up another injury.

I actually don’t think Nawrocki is a bad player, he is a good passer of the ball out from the back.

His lack of pace doesn’t make him a good fit for our system and that should have been noted by those recommending him and handling our transfers at that point in time.

Lagerbielke was similar in that he is a decent box defender good in a team set up to absorb pressure and has a good cross field pass on him to turn defence into attack quickly.

It has got to a point where he should be out on loan but we have so many poor players from that window out on loan we couldn’t put them all out at once.

He definitely needs to go out in the summer either on loan to boost his value up or sold.

Both are good players no doubt about it. Good centre halves but playing on the halfway line and the edge of your box are very different skills. Comes down to identifying players ar that point. I’d argue not one of our centre halves fit the right profile.

I think the mobility of Nawrocki and Lagerbielke is poor, and that’s a large part of the reason they didn’t or don’t feature. Heard rumours that Nawrocki is a bit of a sick note too. Was it against Aberdeen where Nawrocki had an absolute howler?

Id like to see him get some minutes, if nothing else to increase his value.

Aye, with a view to offloading him in the summer.
Only downside is, giving him gametime may be at Murrays expense.

He's 100% not as good as CCV, Trusty or Scales, so I don't really see the point in giving him minutes to make an extra £500k or so.

The thing that'll put up his value is a successful loan move

We are not here to give players minutes. He clearly isn't good enough. Let's accept it and try to move him on.

We need better than him and Scales. Trusty I think is good enough to start or rotate that 2nd choice at the least.

But we should be looking to spend on a decent 3rd/2nd rotation option with pace. Then I'd have Scales as 4th choice/LB option if needs be. Loan Murray out to Hibs or Aberdeen.
