I think it is illegal, but how people can come up with some statements like "what about all the other people worldwide", "what about the soldiers in Iraq".
All well and good, but the subject here is that wee girl, no matter the situation with her left alone for 15-20 mins.
She is missing and the parents are doing all they can to find her. So please don't come out with * like, we are sick hearing or they are milking this. Have a * heart.

So what good is asking questions like...........
"isn't it illegal to leave a minor alone for any length of time?
    serious question."

Are you looking for the parents to be prosecuted?
    Whats your angle?
Get a * life, when * hits the fan there are 2 kinds of people, people who pull together and be positive and try, try and try to make a situation better, then you get the ones who want to point the finger and want to blame someone, it was their fault and so on.
Glad I'm not in your camp.

am not sure if you read my post or not here.
THEY were blaming the police, so what type of people are they? which camp are they in?

my angle was how can they point the finger at anyone when there not exactly faultless. whats wrong with that????

3 times you've said its not about blame, and no finding the lassie isn't about blaming people. but my point IN REPLY TO THEM BLAMING THE POLICE

whats basically going on here is,
    "they police are to blame"
    "your not exactly faultless"
yet your having a rant at me.

    Ever had a heart.
Maybe they are heartbroken, empty and in dare I say it mourning.
Every minute of every day they will be blaming themselves and wish to * they could go back and change events. They are all over the place, if they blame police or whatever that is a reaction down to emotions, do you even have kids?

    Give it a rest.

I don't think they are milking it.. They believe that their daughter might still be alive and might still be out there somewhere. Everyone knows about her disappearance, what she looks like, etc. That's what the family wanted. The media milk it more than anyone. They love the story because it's gripped the nation. So they will always report on it, whether the McCanns like it or not.

I think if my daughter went missing and there was a chance for publicity in the hope that she would be found, I would certainly go for it.

Nobody can blame the parents for doing everything in their power here and 'milking it' as much as they possibly can. Its the media thats the problem. Firstly I know Im not the only one whos noticed that its always A) Middle Class kids B) Girls & C) Pretty girls who get this attention from the media. Every time, in every country. Obviously, the media doesn't care a * about finding kids, they just care about the sale. After 3 * months I see no reason why I should still be hearing about this. Its just * me off now. Especially when there are THOUSANDS of more pressing cases we could be hearing about on the news that might actually result in weans being found. More to the point the media should be doing its job and bringing us some decent analysis of the things that effect us all and not human interest stories. Put her face on a milk carton and report the * news.

I to feel for the family BUT to be honest they are the ones who left 3 young kids in the apartment all on there own , they are obviously loaded so how could they not have brought a child minder with them , then this whole sorry situation would not have happened , What was going through there minds leaving them in the first place , just so they could go out to some resturaunt , whats the matter they couldn,t have taken them with them the kids would have fallen asleep anyway if it was late.

There happened a similar story some weeks ago in Switzerland. A wee girl was kidnapped by a famous criminal who committed suicide some days after the act.

I guess apart from Swiss people no one ever heard of that girl before, if she was english it would be all over the news as well I spose

Wearing t-shirts saying "Not Forgotten" and having memorial days isnt gonna do *.

Apparently there's 1 million kwid been raised but only a fraction spend on policing and search and rescue...hmmm

Ano it's a shame and yes, I do have a heart but I don't see what the media attention will do. It's sending out the wrong impression

I've had this convi with people over and over, and everyone seems genuingly sorry to hear a wee girls missing, but then you look in say the big issue and there's always new kids missing every week!
Not saying they shouldn't be tryna get help to find her, but it reminds me of the whole thing with those girls from surrey I think it was, where the parents actually creeped me out with the whole media thing...and perhaps it wasn't a great idea for it to be broadcast all over the world that there had been possible sightings in other countries, wouldn't that make the kidnapper run for cover elsewhere?
    impossible!
but regardless, what good is it actually doing arguing about it? if anything i think what people should take from this is the fact that every minute counts, go spend some time with your own kids and appreciate them, don't argue on an internet forum eh? :87:

It's all down to her family pursuing media interest. They are trying to keep this story in the public eye in every way they can. It is them who go to the press, get posters made, get t shirts made, speaking to MP's, don't blame them for that.
