It's all over the web that it's a done deal.
    BBC, UEFA, Blackburn's Official site - I think he's a goner!

Are Blackburn not in the UEFA Cup?

It could also be the fact he does have targets! He has a better chance of getting into the Holland squad by playing in the EPL and maybe that's what he's relised. He'll get to showcase his talent against top class players every week, were as with Celtic it would only be every so often in Europe. That alone could lead him to be snapped up by the likes of Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool or other top clubs. Wether it'll actually plan out like that in reality who knows?

Van Basten gave Sno his 1st full cap while playing for Celtic, doesn't do JVoH any harm playing for us either!
Don't get caught up in the same EPL hype as he clearly did.
We beat Man Utd in a head to head in the major club competition last season, this does not go un noticed.

Would they have got a game with the other half a dozen strikers in the team?

I really don't understand why people cant get it round their head why players go to the Prem over Parkhead. It happens all to often to be a coincidence. Rigerters is looking to the future and lets be honest if he wants to play for a big team its much easier playing in a shop window on the same street.

Sure many teams don't have 60,000 + in the Prem, don't have as big a support as Celtic but at the end of the day they don't play their football in a * league. CL football is a great attraction but you compare how many games you get out of plying your trade in England over Scotland and you will see why players do it. I'm sorry to say it but people need to take of their tinted glasses sometimes. If a player knocks back Fenerbahce are they playing for a lesser club? What about Dortmund, Benfica or Sparta Prague? Their are many big clubs in Europe other than Celtic and only when you wear the glasses 24/7 as a fan you see the others as being lesser clubs. I agree Blackburn Rovers are one of many Premiership teams that can only hope for the UEFA cup at the end of the season. But if a player has real ambition he will want to play for Man U or Liverpool so going via Blackburn will make it easier.

    What are you on?
You've quoted my post, then went on to talk about a lot of * that doesn't concern the quote!
Playing in the EPL does not mean you are going to get picked up by the big 4.
Celtic beat Man Utd in a head to head over 2 legs last season & both teams won their leagues., this will show up our players in a better light than getting relegated if playing for Charlton.
Good players are good players what ever the league, look at Naka, Boruc, Viduka, Hooidonk, Di Canio, Larsson - these players either went to EPL from us & did well, or are wanted by big clubs in EPL.
Going to Celtic does not hinder your chances of being a big player.

Why don't you read the comments of Massimo Donati, our new £3million player from AC Milan - he's not worried about joining Celtic in SPL, he sees us as being as good as AC due to our CL performances against them last season - Remember they * gubbed your mighty Man Utd?

Get a grip pal, he's a badly advised young gun - who's went for the money, same as Stokes.
I'm still interested in how they do, but I think they could regret not coming to us.

Sno has played 1 game and it was friendly... Since then he hasn't even had a sniff. JVoH on the other hand is abit older and has already made a name for himself in Holland, which the NT coaches will regard higher than his current SPL expierence. Even then in 7 years JVoH has only pulled on the Holland shirt 12 times(i think that's including sub appearances).

This is why I used this techniques that is common in English which is a paragraph. My whole post wasnt directed at you.

I dont know why you have brought Man U into this discussion, you say I am talking pish?!?

Very true that many good players have went down south via this way but as I did say its easier when your in the Prem I never said its impossible from the SPL.

Finally how did you know how either Stokes or Rigters were advised, are you a fly on the wall during your spare time?

To point out that the level of Celtic is much higher than you think.
Since you think Rigters has made the correct decision to further his career, by going to the EPL - We beat the EPL Champions in open competition COMPRENDE?

My point about you quoting me & going on to argue a point which does not relate to the quote stands.
When we went in for Stokes, McDonald & Killen were not at the club & if we had Stokes we would not have went in for them in all probablity.
I & every other Celtic Fan, fully expect another stiker to be signed before the end of this window - it is also expected that Magic & Miller may be sold (Beattie has already gone, since you typed this diatribe) to free up space in the squad.
Do you think that we are not targetting strikers in this window, I'm not a fly on the wall - it's called an opinion (one shared by most other Celtic Supporters, what club do you support??).

I would go on to argue your points, but you strike me as an arrogant & argumentative individual, so I won't waste my time.

For the Inverness Supporter, I said Van Basten gave Sno his 1st full cap whilst at Celtic - this remains true, thank you for reaffirming the point.
