I reckon the team they have got just now is good enough to be the 3rd team, depending on injuries.

Depends on your definition of any time soon really.

In the next 5 or so years I'd expect them to be up challenging for a Champions League spot.

Be interesting to see how it all fits together.

With Rondon and Van Nistelrooy they have the 3rd best strikeforce in the League.

If Van Nistelrooy can stay fit that is. Joaquin and Toulalan being there as well, two very good players.

Toulalan in particular could add to any team on the planet I think, I'm a massive fan of him.

They will struggle to get a top four finish.

They have a great squad as it stands now fantastic manager and they are not done with buying yet.

Sevilla ,Valencia , atletico madrid all getting weaker .

Great chance at top 4 this season .

    Sevilla haven't gotten weaker.

Valencia still have the core of their squad.

    Athletico Madrid are * anyway.

My younger cousin is on uni placement for a year in Malaga. Might head out to see if they are any good.

Why because they've signed Toulalan and an over the hill Van Nistelrooy? Joaquin peaked 4 seasons ago as well and Baptista has been touted about Europe for 3 or 4 seasons now as well. They got pumped 7 nil off Madrid only a matter of months ago.

Contrast that with Atletico; Forlan, Aguero, Reyes, Lopez, Godin, Elias. Villarreal; Nilmar, Rossi, Marchena, Cazorla, Capdevila. Valencia; Soldado, Mata, Albelda, Banega.

On paper they are still a mile away.

As it stands but looks like both Mata and Banenga will be off .Valencia; a lot weaker within them.

Atletico lost David De Gea and look like Aguero nailed on to leave , godin could be going lfc .

Villareal could lose Rossi and Cazorla,

A lot can still change and Malaga have the funds to bring in the big names i would expect them to sign at least 5 or 6 more .

I love how you know the transfer dealings of every club in Europe. You need to leave internet forums once in a while.

Right off the bat Mata has stated categorically he wants to win a trophy in a Valencia strip next season.

They have got a few good players. Baptista plays very well in Spain from midfield and Mathijsen will be an excellent player for them at the back, Toulalan will be decent as will Joaquin and Van Nistelrooy will score if he gets a game. Rondon is a quality player too, one of the top strikers in the League and could link up well with him.

They could be 3rd, I doubt it but they could.

Lets not forget Sevilla:Álvaro Negredo, Jesús Navas, Diego Perotti, Frédéric Kanouté
and Athletic Bilbao :Fernando Llorente, Ander Herrera, Javi Martínez

Malaga will be lucky to make the Europa league right now.

A lot of "could" in that post.

I remember last year everyone expected Athletico Madrid to come 3rd or to even split the big two and we all know what happened.
