Aye he was, too eager I think was running about daft and slipping about like he had ice skates on. Looked a mess for 5 minutes but settled.

Good for the team and good for him to grab his first goal for Celtic so early in his career for us . I think he will be a decent player to have in the squad ; a Celtic fan and a confident young player that will give his all . If we want success in domestic competition , and make progress in Europe , we need a squad full of players trying their utmost . Good luck to him on his time at Celtic .

Was just looking at transfermarkt and I think McCowan isn't just a midfield rotation option. He has a lot of games a both left and right wing in his career. Could see him getting some game time on either wing as a sub.

I honestly think we signed him with one eye on him replacing Calmac as captain.

    We will see.
I actually think Taylor will be the next Celtic captain. But can't wait to see more of McCowan, as I think he will turn out to be a really important player for us this season.

Expect him to come off the bench at the weekend whenever we start to cruise. Give someone in midfield a rest for 30mins.

I would be tempted to start him on Saturday.

It may happen as he's likely to remain with us longer than any other candidate..

    Early days for him tho.

I can't really see it. Think the captain has to be someone who is one of the first names on the team sheet.

Well, he's just in the door..

It will depend how he settles and all other candidates will have moved by the time McGregor hangs up his Celtic boots.

    But, aye a bit premature..

I think he will be too but I would be tempted to start him to keep one of the others fresh for Tuesday night. We will dominate the ball against likely a low block and McCowan is pretty creative and has a goal threat from outside the box.

Aye, I expect him to replace McGregor whenever we are 3 goals up.

Is he a natural CM? I thought he was a wide player. Dunno why.

He was originally a wide player and only in the last few seasons was moved centrally, but its only since he moved to the centre that he's had his breakthrough. Very much his natural position now.
