i think he would be good for us truth be told, and ideally would give us a good option to rest like one of the players after a Euro game aswell as the busy periods of games in the season.

 

As a backup I suppose so but if that's the case I would still rather give Holm more time.

McCowan can't be seen as anything near to a MOR replacement tho.

 

Would rather see Bernardo, Holm and Iwata being rotated in. If we lose O'Riley, we need someone better than McCowan to come in. Maybe if we get him cheap enough and he's happy being 7th choice midfielder.

If we sign him, add him to the list of others that are just not good enough to be even close to starting - Yang, Kwon, Kobyashi, Lagerbielke, Nawrocki, Holm and even Iwata althhough he is closer than the rest.
Good enough SPFL player for Dundee, Hibs (whom are reportedly interested) etc, will never get close to our first team, even without ORiley.
I just don't see how he fits Brendan's requirement of adding 'quality'

 

I don’t think he rates Holm to be honest, many times he could have used him last season and didn’t. him and Iwata play different roles too, Iwata is a decent back up for when McGregor isn’t playing ill give you that.

Mccowan would be an excellent addition, yes might not start games but I’d suggest he would be trusted to play more than the likes of Yang, palma, Holm, Kwon etc.

He is definitely not O’Riley replacement but for me other than miovksi he is the stand out player in the league.

For a million pounds it’s a no brainer.

 

I think he will be decent for us. But like others have said as long as we sign other players too.

 

always looked good playing against us so for that reason I'm happy for us to sign him. good money going back to a scottish club and helps us re: the homegrown quota. him and Engels would be ideal.

 

Solid player, homegrown, won't cost much, on paper he's a good squad/rotation option, much prefer him over some random million quid punt we've never heard of and have no idea will settle into Scottish football.
