I rate mccowan but I think going for him instead of Sanches would just be penny pinching a bit again.

Let's keep the momentum going and keep spending pls

Sanches is one I really want as well to be fair, think another option on the wing is vital too though.

I'd take him as i'd trust him to add creativity and attacking threat from midfield, he can beat a man, pass a ball, get about the park etc would rather see him playing with Bernardo in an emergency than Holm or Iwata.

I'd prefer him over Sanches, seen Sanches only has 1 assist in 50 games in the Swiss League, thats not right for a midfielder and makes you think he doesn't really even get forward at all and what we need in midfield would be creativity and attacking threat to break teams down.

There’s a wee sneaky bit of me thinks we will put in a last minute bid for him. Tbh I like him and he would definitely be reliable even in spl games so we can rest players

Now that we've got engles in I wouldn't be totally against this. Could be a decent enough rotation player for either side of European games.

Yeah, I’m not against signing him but I’m a bit confused. We were willing to pay £8m for Bogusz. You telling me there isn’t a young midfielder, between 18-23 who we could get for around £8m?

Only reason I would be ok about this is if we go big on a winger. Like pay the £5m for Toure or go back in for someone like Podence, for £7m/£8m.

    1) Even a stat-lover such as you should know by now that stats are only worth the level of analysis you treat them with.

    2) Are you going to ignore his 5 goals in 25 appearances in the league last year? 1 in 5 is a fairly good return for a 20 y/o playing CM for one of the poorer teams in the league.

    3) If you actually watch his vids, he gets forward plenty.

Anyway, back on topic: I’d take McCowan fairly happily. Would definitely prefer Sanches though.

Would be happy enough with this, you need players like him..

As long as we add a real game changing winger.

If we get two in, while letting Iwata leave, I'd be fine with McCowan being one of them.

Aye, if we can punt Iwata and loan out Holm then fine.

As long as we also sign a more attacking midfield and a winger.

Someone on KDS said this morning that he'd heard we will "sneak him in the backdoor" along with 2 others

He has been decent whenever I've watched him tbh.

Underwhelming because he's not exotic and hitting the peak of his powers.

He could prove to be a shrewd signing if used correctly ie giving McGregor a rest against weaker teams.

Don't have a problem, we have space for him in the European squad. We currently only have McGregor, Ralston, Welsh, Forrest, Bain and Taylor (Turley won't take up a spot).
I don't think we should spend £8m for the sake of £8m. I'd rather get someone in we know could at least fill in domestically and scout and sign the correct person in January or next summer.

Podence is on over 50kpw isn't he, I don't see us paying him that.

I would be ok with this if we shipped Iwata out and splashed the cash on a winger as I think we are weaker in that area.

Even a loan to buy as we have had some success with that in the past few seasons.
