My mate in Leeds said that someone has been shot there, but there are hundred or so youths gathering at the scene.

Fair point, no denying it but I replied to a poster laying the blame squarely at the door of the Tories. I see that as grossly unfair. Labour were in power nationally for years and ran up horrendous debt that this country will be paying in another 50 years. Haringey council has been run by Labour for 40 years and is also in serious debt and has had to slash vital services, such as youth clubs.

They are simple facts and are pertinent.

Still no excuse for rioting or looting though.

Fair comment, I just doubt that the majority of those out in the street are as up to date with their facts as you are! I think this mob mentality stems from a general feeling of unrest, and grievance.

What is happening now though is obscene. I would be so scared if I were living in the affected areas.

I'm pretty sure most who are on the streets are nothing more than opportunist thugs who're being marshalled by a select few. Led like sheep in other words. It's usually the way these things pan out.

Still can't understand why water cannon is not used against them. Innocent people are right at this moment prisoners in their own homes while these * muppets run rampant through the streets. Personally I think it's a disgusting indication of British society that this is allowed to happen and that the Police are standing off.

totally agree with that, innocent people are being held hostage in their own homes, peoples livelihoods are being destroyed and yet the police are standing off them, mob mentality wins by the looks of things.

No, that is not "the facts", that is your opinion.

The fact is that Haringey Council has been Labour/NewLabour-controlled for the last 40 years. You identify them as "socialists" in the same way that the far-right loons in the States identify Obama as "socialist".

If you think that the problem of having 14 different bottled water suppliers is "of socialist making", you are aff yr trolley. :56:

Fuxake - seriously kicking off in Croydon now.

That is the far south of London. Also Kilburn (NW), Hackney (NE) - plus Catford, Lewisham, Peckham...

It looks like the idea that this was somehow organised is wide of the mark. An organised riot would be focused in one place, but this is all over.

This is * all to do with the lad who was murdered by the police, or anything else other than a deep sense of injustice felt by working class people in London. It might be that a few people are just looking for a fight however ask yourself why now? Why was this not happening months or years ago?

These * *-hole politicians telling people not to go out and riot when they allow poverty, corruption, inequality to be the norm. Remember, who has caused the massive damage to our country? The politicians and Bankers, yes....* Bankers! Every person in this country has paid or will have to pay £3500 each to bail the Banks out.

Well I think that deserves a * riot. Not before * time.

Restore order? What * order? Let the politicians behave and make the capitalist * who have ruined the country behave....maybe then they can ask for order.

Mate, there's no point trying to have a normal debate with this guy, he draws his own conclusions and sticks to them.

Anyway, back on topic, why don't they send water canon's over from N.I? They did similar with armoured trucks when Raul Moat was on the run last year
