Yeah, but I mean if Ljungberg didn't exactly set the MLS alight I can't say I agree with you that he will 'shine' here.

Freddie has a footballing brain that will tear apart SPL teams, he might not have the pace he once had anymore, im not sure as i've not seen him play in a few years.. Though he'll be more than good enough to shine for us in the SPL

How much have you heard of henry since leaving for america? Nothing bar his debut.
He'd still walk in to this celtic side, backwards. So I'm not sure I see your point there. How was he a has been at west ham? West ham pay stupid amounts of wages for players, they have had alot of quality players there over the years. he got injured he was unlucky. He's played over 50 games in the MLS since then though, so the injury has to be gone.

as I said earlier in the thread Swedes are generally a healthy bunch of people so I don't doubt his fitness , at all.
Better than McCourt? Will he go on runs past 3/4 st mirren players and score? Probably not, no. is he far more experience than McCourt? yes. does our team NEED experience? Yes. Is he smarter than McCourt? Yes.
McCourt has played about 1 90mins for celtic to claim we shouldn't sign a player becuase he's here is laughable.
He can not be relied on.

There should be a sign outside parkhead which reads "Positions vacant, apply within". I want us to be in there fighting with other teams for a players signature not geting someone who is past his best. Do you honestly think this guy will have the hunger to play for us and give his all? IMO we are stumbling from one disaster to another and whilst we know the writing is on the wall, most are living in denial and hoping it comes good. Reminds me a wee bit of last season. Remember the Jan window, even I got carried away with that one, but then again we got Robbie Keane. Freddy isn't even close to that in terms of impact.

This ^ :50: We signed Lubo when he was 33, think we should give the guy a chance he could be what we need.

Our team needs a creative midfielder a person who can read a game and unlock defenses, He was avery unlucky player at west ham as he got injured seriouslly and if it hadnt been for the fact he has played so many games over in the states i would have my doubts. Lets not forget this was a guy who at his pinacle was part of an Arsenal team that swept all aside and an integral part at that ( you dont forget everything you learnt there also over 70 Sweden Caps). Why is he wanting to come to Celtic?, He says because he wants another chance at Europe, nota bad reason and definately achievable if we can get our act together, more likely it was suggested by mjallby and Freddie thought why not?.
These days players are playing a lot longer because fitness is a lot higher and players look after theirselves a lot better I mean you just have to look at old father time at the dark side who must be about 70. I look forward to Freddie playing against him and making him look his age.

Whats wrong with ppl? why do you say that he sucked in mls and he wont be a success at celtic park? first off, he did not suck in MLS, hes very good, and he have had a NIGHTMARE of injurys, he said in a interview with swedish media, (which is the media i read when i want to get a grip on this transfer cus english media is a joke. and its hes home country) that he now feel about fully fit, and he wants to prove himself once again, we can get a BIG GEM here guys?!

if he even plays half as good as he did in arses he will shine, our currenct midfielders cant even * pass the ball? imagine hes smart passes and good finishing, this can be extremely intresting.

    * good signing if it happens!!!

if hes fit which he says that he is now after all this nightmare off injuries, he will be far more superior then any of the player in our current team.

And the "making a nice wage" thingy, get a grip ffs. players move to US and Arab teams to get a nice wage, he just said hes thrilled to prove himself once again, why dont just trust that?

Could very well be the guy we require.

I've not seen him since he had a horrific time with injury at West Ham but if he's back fully fit and is in decent shape why shouldn't we have a look at him?

He has the ability to time a run into the box which we've been missing for 5 or 6 seasons. He also deserves respect and should hopefully become a dressing room leader.

We got Keane when imo he was past his best and he was allright (and I don't mean great).

We have nothing to lose with this, if he's * then we can simply move him on

Nah, I was a bit OTT. But I still don't think he's better than Forrest, Maloney, McCourt or even Kapo and McGinn.

Lubo is a perfect example that 33 isn't too old to sign a player, that is why people are bringing him up.

Personally I think Ljungberg would/will be an excellent signing. He's capable of making the runs from midfield that we've missed since Petrov, could also be a positive influence on Brown who for the past few years has been expected to fill that void.

he has a far better footballing brain than all of them players. McGinn McCourt and Forrest are all very rough around the edges. if you don't think Freddie will do as well as them then tbh, you're wrong.
