    It could be for that very reason.. plus BR has always liked JF and maybe he’s been impressing in training - you never know?!?

    No issues with him starting there, get the game won and then introduce Yang and Palma to the surface later in the game, for next time..

    Wouldn't be surprised if he gets a goal.

    No Turnbull is good, only reason I think he's starting Forrest is to avoid injuries.

    Forrest and Maeda just doesn't scream creativity especially in a game like this. Probably the one combo I wouldn't have went for bizarrely.

    Forrest was nowhere near our squad last season for the majority of games. I think justifying his inclusion because he's played there before is clutching at straws a bit....its showing our lack of confidence in new players for me.

    Given the players available I dont necessarily hate playing Forrest but just shows you how weak our squad is atm.

    As much as we shouldnt have to resort to playing Forrest I would rather he play than Turnbull.

    Haha, very true, but come the * on dude. James Forrest starting for us in the '23/'24 season is a joke. Just need Mccarthy to be on the bench to round it off. The board/CEO/"scouting network" have badly let us all down. Millions in the bank and even without the injuries, our attacking depth is sorely lacking.

    Honestly, we desperately needed a LB, CDM and another striker in my view. If we had signed ONE out of those 3 positions, my ire would be greatly lessened.

    Also I don't think so far Yang or Palma have done enough to have any complaints. Yang has done his best work coming on which isn't the same as starting.
