    I deliberately hold off buying new technology until I know it's caught on/sustainable for precisely this reason.

    I actually bought a Betamax player for 30 quid thinking i'd got got a great bargain, a few months later they withdrew all their tapes from the rental shops and ceased production :icon_mrgreen: :52:

    Aye but the tapes were smaller than VHS and of better quality, if anything i thought VHS would be the format to go down the pan tbh.

    Cheers guys, Just remembered i shelled out big money for a Sega Dreamcast as well around the same time this is why 12 year olds should still just get a couple of pound coins sellotaped into a card for their birthday not wods of cash:icon_mrgreen:

    The old top loader video players were brutal, whenever you pressed fast forward it sounded as if the * thing was about to take off ffs :56:

    The size of them too, Jaysis! And let's not forget them chewing up your favourite taped-off show with spiteful glee...

    I don't miss video tapes at all really.

    I used to remember people taping over my vhs tapes and when i would get mad at them they would just say, "you should have just popped the wee thingwee up, the wee tab thingwee" :47: If the trivial things that annoy you thread would have been around in 1999 i would have been right on there:icon_mrgreen:
