Anyone see the carryon with the Messi and Friends friendlies in America? supposed to be friendlies for charity. The first one was cancelled and the 2nd one less than half the players turned up and the teams had to be filled up with * players. Falcao, Cavani, Boateng, David Luiz, Fabregas and that were meant to have played but never turned up. Some fans had paid for more expensive $400 tickets too, to meet Messi and get autographs but he never went.

They were talking about it on ESPN Press Pass. Seems like it went * up.

I saw that on Press Pass sounds like a PR disaster. He probably should have just sat with his feet up all Summer.

Saw the Messi thing a while ago on YahooSports. I think they are trying to make Messi out worse than he actually is. To be fair it was not just him. It was all just a disaster, from start to finish and the organisers vastly over-priced the event.

I've read that the PR people and promoters were offering all kinds of stuff that Messi had no idea about. They scheduled a game in LA on the tour just 20 hours or so after one that had taken place in Lima, Peru, and he had no idea about it.

Probably a scam to get people to fork out 400 bucks for a ticket :smiley-laughing002:

Yes the second game was in Chicago and they had to have players form one of the local colleges Northwestern University come and play in the game. Then one of those players only goes and scores an amazing goal in the game.

Since he returned from injury in January his stats are

    22 Games
    24 Goals
    11 Assists

In the first 6 Games back he only scored 4 and made 1 Assist to, so his last 16 games he has...

    16 Games
    20 Goals
    10 Assists

And in those last 16 games he has played Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid, Man City twice, Sevilla and Valencia.

His demeanour just now is strange, I'm not sure he's enjoying playing under Martino. Either that or he's * at being considered 2nd best in the World OR he has his eyes on his best chance at winning a World Cup in a couple of months.

Either way his attitude has changed on the park.

By all accounts the vast majority of the Barcelona squad at the moment aren't enjoying playing under Martino. Given what I've heard and read I don't think Martino will be there next season regardless of the honours Barcelona pick up between now and the end of the season.

Wouldn't surprise me if this is the main reason behind his demeanour at the moment. Certainly he's not the only one in the squad that seems to be this way and Martino's ridiculous squad rotation policies certainly don't seem to be helping matters.

The signing of Neymar continues to haunt Barca by the looks of it. They'll have to offer Messi what he wants, won't they?

I'm not so sure mate. I hope they do but I get the feeling that Messi will be moving on in the next year or so. Seems to be more than a few people who think he may be getting to big for his boots
