Tbf I did say before the season started that it wouldn't be a disaster if we only got EL football this season as it's Rodgers' first.

But the more I think about it the more I think about how close we were to qualifying last season and how we were a couple of mistakes away from beating Ajax and Fenerbahce.

Basically, this squad of players is capable of playing good football. Brendan has a reputation as a great motivator so he has a week to get these guys in the right state of mind.

I'm not doubting Brendan at all, he's just in the door and I believe it'll be an exciting season but he has to get us at least the EL group stages.

 

Do they players decide the formation the team selection the tactics the substitutions? Do they *. BR needs to know now he's in charge, he's responsible, he needs to stop * about

 

And we're getting * off that Celtic Park isn't featured in the next FIFA game. No wonder, no *'s ever seen it for the last few years in Europe.

 

Seeing the positives...
Best time for this to happen to be honest, now he can see which of his players can't handle the pressure of competitive football. Hopefully a wake up call. I for one aren't worried as it'll force the board to push onto more signings and hopefully players out the door. There are a lot of players hiding and very weak on the ball. He needs to replace them with strength or if not that, then desire. Next week WILL be a formality on a bigger pitch and a crowd pushing them on. But with all these friendlies in between, well certainly hope it doesn't backfire.

 

I'm gonna sound like a trolling c**t here but that pitch was a disaster area. Reserve judgement for the return leg and let's not put any more pressure on Rogers shoulders, there's enough there already.

As John Hartson said he will learn more about the team after this loss than he would had we cantered it. Worrying thing for me was no change in the same old suspects .

 

I have given myself some to time to calm down and look at this logically. After doing that I'm convinced we are * if we don't get rid of some of the * clowns and wasters in our team. I actually had calmed down but now my blood is up again just thinking about some of those players. Bunch of imposters. Beaten by postmen, customs officials and a taxi man. A * taxi man. Seriously that has to be the end of Brown. There were others aye, one in particular, but Brown - an absolute disgrace. Again.

Most embarrassing result ever but not the most surprising. We started with all the same players , bar 1 , who let us down all last season. We again play players out of position and again we leave players out that could do a better job. I can only think Rodgers was protecting Roberts from the pitch.
Time again and time again we fail to break teams down when they sit in. We need a player who can see a pass from centre midfield, Scott Allan .

Rodgers promised fast paced football, when Bitton is in the team you are guaranteed he will slow it down with his many side passes. its took us until the 82nd minute before we had a decent cross into the box

The players knew what this game meant, to the club and to the supporters, With 90 minutes gone and playing into 4 minutes injury time we still showed no pace or urgency to get the ball forward.

The pitch was bad but you cant blame the pitch for the way players think, their lack of desire or urgency .

 

We cant even make the excuse that we are still in pre season, they are too.

* off as i was we can't really expect a new manager to come in and polish this * over night.
It is after all the same * from last season apart from a player or two.
