Liel Abada

Liel Abada has picked up an injury while on international duty with Israel.

Celtic will be hopeful they won't lose another key player to the treatment table.

The winger pulled up at the end of a training session with his national team with a quad injury.

He will now miss his side's Euro 2024 qualifier against Romania tomorrow and will be sent for a scan to discover what damage has been done.

Israel manager Alon Hazan said: “He felt a pinch in his muscle.”

Abada recently signed a new long-term contract at Celtic after Brendan Rodgers convinced the 21-year-old to commit his future in Glasgow.

After agreeing on the deal, he said: "I’m really happy to sign the new contract.

"Now we have a target for this season and we’re looking forward.

"The most important thing for me is to improve every day and in every game. I want to get better for the team to achieve our targets.

“Every time I score for this club is really amazing. To score in Celtic Park is always special and the atmosphere is amazing.

 

This could turn out to be a blessing in disguise. I like abada but it hopefully gives minutes to Yang Palma tilio and maybe even vata

Always a * to lose someone on internatioanl duty, but it's an opportunity now for Yang to step in and give us something to think about and push for a starting place, hopefully he grabs the chance with both hands.

 

Not looking for any player to be injured, but creates an opportunity for other players in the squad. Maeda can play off the right to allow palma play on the left too. Again I don't want abada to be injured but I'm not too worried about finding out what this squad is about. We have decent strength and depth and better flexibility on the wings now

We need good sports scientists. At least they should be cheaper than blockbuster signings. This injury might've had its origin with us.

 

Hopefully nothing serious and he'll be OK for after the international break. Gives Palma and Yang a chance to shine though.

Yes sure it happened before if I remember correctly

 

Abada has been poor for a very long time now. No great loss really.

 

Is it not common for players to develop niggling injuries or flare ups of dormant conditions when a new manager comes in?

I would imagine the different training regimes and drills would require a period for the body to adapt.

Thought he looked dangerous v The Huns was unlucky with the one Butland saved and should have had an assist with the one Kyogo tries to flick..

His stats don't lie, Sinclair used to get the same criticism, wing play can be poor at times but goals and assists are very consistent..

 

Especially in international breaks. I swear every break for the past 3 years some * has got injured

 

Would’ve preferred Yang at home to Dundee anyway. Abada not been at it all, hopefully it’s minor and he’s back in a couple of weeks.
