If he does leave, it'll be near the end of the window, we won't let him leave before.

Even then, I think he's staying, I've no doubt he'll go up a level under Rodgers.

Yet everyday there's some story about one of our first teamers wanting away. Hmm........

 

Abada has already said several times he’s happy here and excited for the season…think he knows he’ll be first choice and a big chance for him.

 

Slightly worrying that it's often proven true this summer..

 

Wouldn't be against selling Abada for the right price as long as we sign an established RW in his place. Personally, I'm very high on Maeda. I think he should be starting at LW. Kyogo is a lock at CF. That leaves one Forward position up for grabs. Abada is a promising player, but I'm fairly optimistic we can upgrade on him.

 

On the other hand he was offered a new deal and didn't take it, then changed his agent as well, he could be loving his time here now but still move on if an attractive offer from a bigger league comes in.

 

If Jota stayed and we signed a right winger then I would've been fairly happy selling him..

It can't happen now though. We'd be majorly weak on the wings and 100% needing to add a first team starter for either side. You could argue we need that even with him but I won't bore everyone banging that drum every week..

 

We need replacements in before these players leave. This is becoming a very frustrating window.

Sky sports suprise suprise Rangers having a tough time let's make * up about celtic.. Abada has 4 possibly 5 teams after him. and could be one of 3 big name players leaving celtic next couple weeks. And we only looking at loans to bring anyone in. This has Andrew Dickson all over it

 

Hoping Abada stays. Reckon he could go up several levels this season. Was immense the last game of the season and looked sharp in preseason.

 

We shouldn't let him leave. He can still develop miles with game time over the next couple years and will sell for more money after a year or so of regular games in a CL team.

All this nonsense about not keeping players that don't want to be here does ma nut. He's got a contract and has a job to do. Rodgers is meant to be all about managing relationships, let's see him do his job and manage turned heads.

 

We seen it when Édouard wanted to leave and we didn't let him go and he just downed tools and went through the motions and it cost us .

 

People won't realise just how important this guy is until he goes.

People say the exact same thing about Starfelt. I think we'll be stronger this season with Nawrocki + Gustaf.

Abada is a promising young player, but he's far from irreplacable. He leaves a lot to be desired in terms of dribbling ability / beating his opponent 1vs1. Whenever him and Maeda start at the wings, we lack the necessary creativity to break down defenses from the wing positions. At the same time, he's nowhere near Maeda's level when it comes to explosiveness and work rate. I would argue he's a poor man's Maeda (a better finisher, but worse at everything else). All in all, I'm fairly confident we can find a better player than Abada. Wouldn't be against selling him for the right price as long as we sign an established RW in his place.

 

Abada is never in a million years a poor man's Maeda.

 

Maybe not the most accurate comp, but he's definitely not a creative winger. He's fairly limited on the ball, just like Maeda. He relies mostly on his pace and on his off-ball movement. The two of them share plenty of similar traits.

 

The problem there was that it was the whole team rather than just one guy. Everyone wanted away for years. You can usually hold onto one guy for a season without it causing problems in the team, especially when he's a relatively minor figure.
