Gus is definitely the riskier of the two at this stage. Saying that there's just under 2 weeks and a home game before we play the huns, he could very well settle before then.

Think if AJ is back for it it will help us massively.

The funny thing is, im not worried about him starting at Ibrox, I'm far more worried about Taylor, Ralston or Hart starting.

Scales will do OK I feel.

Scales did well pre-season, but not sure we can read too much into it..

Its more the inexperienced partnership both making debuts in that fixture.

Seems eerily similar to Mulgrews big break here, being thrown in unexpectedly at Ibrox due to injuries after barely getting a look in. He never looked back either.

Just have to go with whoever is fit enough in the CB position. These injuries may lead to certain players who were going out the building having to remain. Scales may be one of them.

Some fella, don't think he even trained for the last few years of his career due to dodgy knee's.. but was usually in the squad :)

Scales is very slow. He said himself he prefers playing cb but when we bought him he was playing lb for rovers, wing back aswell sometimes but I would say he’s slower than Taylor just obviously much bigger n more physical

    The Irish Ledley King.

He was better than king though. That lad was some defender.

Could go from almost being punted by us to Aberdeen, to starring in the Champions League and SA coming in with a £30m offer in one season :56:

I have no problem having him as backup tbh, thought he looked pretty good for Aberdeen last year and while he's not close to a starting position if everyones fit if he's happy to train well and try to make most of his chances that do come then I'd happily keep him here instead of loaning him out again.

I have absolutely no worries about Scales playing against the huns at Ibrox. He knows Scottish football inside out, performed well for Aberdeen at Ibrox last season and knows exactly what to expect. I am more concerned for the likes of Lagerbielke who may well turn out to be a good player but the Glasgow Derby atmosphere may unsettle him, there will be no issues on that front with Scales.

Scored against the huns last season too (albeit it was a cross that ended up in the net).

Hopefully a solid performance today to give him a foundation for next week. I think he's a decent player. Not a world beater by any stretch, but capable of putting in a solid display at Ibrox.

One of the worst defensive performances I've seen from a Celtic centre half..

    Weak
    Slow
    Done anytime they attacked
    Terrible in possession
Petrified whenever he had the ball

    Total * diddy..
