I've said this before but I would rather sell him to a Championship club, if there is one who would want him.

He performed very well for Aberdeen last year, was their best player. Surely someone down there would want to take a punt on him.

Thing is, I wouldn't even let him go for that much. £500k and a significant sell on would do us very very well. Imagine him going down there to someone like Stoke and performing well? Then you've got the EPL relegation boys taking notice. Aberdeen have a ceiling for what they can sell for, they're never going to get large cash. In the championship, if you're part of a team that exceeds expectations and gets into the play offs, you're a £15m player.

Look at Porteous. Performing well down there, now a regular in the Scotland squad and probably already got some * from the top league watching him.

He’ll not be away before Sunday, but by the end of the window he’ll be gone.

He was probably our best CB pre-season, done himself well to try and push for a place, not been in the run for even back up since. And that’s because in training he’s not the same class.

I like him, he has some good attributes, it won’t be here though

He had a few games there for us and Aberdeen and he's been moved to centre back because he's more suitable to that position.

He's not better or quicker than Taylor at left back.

Think he would have left if Welsh didn't get that injury and with CCV injured he's number three at the moment and maybe hold on to him till January.

Think Scales is at the stage of his career where he really just wants to play football as much as possible, hwnce why I got the feeling he wanted a return to Aberdeen every bit as much as Robson wanted him back there. But quite simply given our current situation he has to stay at the very least until January, but as has been pointed out above, this is a golden opportunity to prove that all he has learned at Aberdeen last season, especially in the second half of the season has improved him as a defender, as people had noted in pre-season.

From the time Robson took over in Feb, the Dons played 13 games (all league), of which Scales played in 10. He didn't play in the 2 games v Celtic obviously, nor the 2-1 win over United). Of the 10 games he did play, they kept 8 clean sheets and conceded just 3 goals in total (1 of which was a pen v Sevco - because ofc Sevco get a pen, and the 2-1 loss to Hearts in May).

For the record, that was a much, much better defensive record in that same time than what Celtic had over that same period.

Even outwith Nawrocki's injury he was staying until January at least.

Massive, massive opportunity for him to stake his claim here, a good performance at Ibrox could change his career completely.

Can’t see us signing another CH to cover our horrendous injuries in defence so Scales has about a month of games to show us he’s good enough, I so hope he steps up

Depends on how bad Nawrocki is, if he's out for a few months Scales stays. I can't see us wanting to go 2 or 3 months with just CCV, Gus and Yuki

Absolutely massive opportunity for him to get his profile way up. If he really stands up he could stake a claim for a spot here, and if not here then maybe a really big move... Worst case for him is a fallback to Aberdeen, so it's not like he's under critical pressure either. Hope he does well

I remember panicking in Postecoglou's first year when our squad was stripped bare, thinking we are totally * here. But we managed through it.

The assumption here is we're * if we need to use Scales but I think it's worth remembering that he'll want to put in big performances and prove his worth.

Not ideal obviously but he could very well grab the bull by the horns and do well.

Our misses are big but Scales knows this league well and has performed to a fairly high level in it..

Good size and decent pace. Quite good on the ball..

He should do ok. I actually picked him to start left back at Rugby Park due to some of the above and being more physically imposing..

Hope he seizes his chance. Needs to be given a fair crack of the whip as well by the fans who will be tense due to other factors.

Had a decent preseason hopefully he does a job. Only thing he seems to really lack is pace but hopefully at cb it won’t be exposed much

He played well vs huns for Aberdeen last season so he will be fine.

If it had to be Scales and CCV, no issues but Scales and Lagerbielke will make it more nervy than usual I feel.
